Musicians and music-related topics are all right here in the Music Room.

So I recently re-strung my very old and very beat acoustic guitar, thinking I'd start playing a little. Well...I don't remember jack. And worse, the guitar lessons I took as a kid and teenager taught me VERY little about music theory and a lot about playing by ear. I don't remember anything useful of either. But I'd like to go through some music theory lessons to remember how stuff works...scales, progressions, mathematics of music, etc. Are there any good places to learn online for free?

Sweet! Time to start searching youtube!
I recently discovered (don't know how I didn't know about them until now) that one can buy Violin mutes. So that's another thing I'd like to learn for as close to free as possible.

Been a while guys. Life's been busy.

My dad has a set of books all about music theory. I'll see if I can get the titles off him. There is a bunch of information right here on the web as well, you don't really have to spend any money to learn a ton about music theory. Search around a bit on Google and you'll find a wide range of material. I've been studying more myself.
