Did you check classified to see if anybody is parting one out and has one? I'd imagine you could get a lid and latch assembly for less than 40 bucks from a junkyard or a part out

How did you remove your glove box latch?

^^^You can remove the latch by disassembling the inner portion from the outer portion of the glove box, it's pretty easy by removing several screws. Getting to the glove box assembly however takes removing the tweed covers from the console and lower dash.

OP, it seems from your pics the latch is intact...have you checked your latch strike?
Mine got messed up somehow and had to be adjusted with washers, and it all works perfectly now...try spacing the strike forward with thin washers to catch the latch.

this post was dug up from like 3 years ago lol.. IIRC there was a plastic piece on the assembly that was missing, causing the old one to not latch shut. And yea i don't even think i followed a writeup- just started taking it apart- its pretty easy to gather how things work in there

^^ Yep, Just a plastic piece that holds a retaining pin with a high-tension spring that pulls the latch back closed. I used epoxy layers to hold mine back together when it broke on the TT.

Love that epoxy, it fixed my ash tray where the arm and peg are broken by layering epoxy over the peg with a very small washer behind it so it moves.

Hate getting busted on the 3-year-old thread though!

Yep, been whoring it up today. I didn't waste any time getting back in the swing of things.

Oh, and one more post and you'll be at 666. Better make it a good one.
