Gear grinds sometimes when shifting out of 4Lo into 4Hi or vice versa

Hello,

I have a question to ask the pathy experts out there. I am driving a 1994 pathy with an automatic transmission. Today, while testing out my 4x4 and tried to go back to 2H, I noticed I had some gear grinds going on. I could feel / hear the gear grind even although I was in a complete stop and the transmission was put into neutral position. I also noticed its not a smooth process to get them out of 4LOW into 4HI or 2H. I can easily switch from 2H into 4L with a single click ( all the way down ) but doing the reverse 4L into 2H is more difficult and I grind the gears.

I am wondering if anyone has experienced this issue and any tips on how to resolve it?

Just had this same issue on my 96 Pathfinder. Did you ever find out what was going on?
