I have a 2011 G37 with 88K mi. Love it but looking to enhance power and handling cost efficiently. Ideally 50-100 more HP. Turbocharge, supercharge, intake/headers/exhaust/cam? Looking for the most bang for the buck. Not racing or picking up hot chicks. I want to keep the car looking and sounding relatively stock. Can transmission, etc, handle increased power? Need to upgrade brakes?

It's tough to beat forced induction for bang for the buck.

Stillen makes a nice kit.

Can stock transmission and drive-line handle the extra power?

The G35 stock A/T can handle ~400 bhp. 6MT can handle a bit more as long as you start looking at aftermarket clutches (EDIT - obviously the clutch is going to depend on how your torque is changing) and iirc the VQ35DE can handle ~390 hp (stock internals) with no worries. I know the VQ35HR bumped the max up and I would imagine that the VQ37HR bumped it up even more.

I haven't done as much free time research on the G37, but if you are only planning on adding 50 hp, you are easily in the safety zone for nearly all stock components. Perhaps someone with a G37 could give more specific numbers.

I would also suggest Turbo/supercharging for the best bang for the buck increase. There are pros and cons for both.

Good luck,
Lars
