This is the replacement for the horrible plastic aero splash shield for the G35X.

Brushed Aluminum version is:
$165 SHIPPED

Black Powdercoated version is:
$185 SHIPPED

As noted in the RWD version, this:

*Protects the engine better
*Increase high speed stability for the bumper
*Includes an oil access door for quick oil changes
*Is designed to keep clearance to a maximum (especially useful for lowered vehicles)
*Helps channel air through the engine bay to keep the vehicle running cool

Have you noticed any additional noise from the metal due to road debris? Just curious.

Nope. I haven't had any noise. Obviously this sits under the engine so you don't have tires kicking up stuff directly at it.

Its awesome. Everyone who has one loves the extra rigidity especially as it pertains to the bumper. I can only imagine how much better this is at higher speeds as well.

Absolutely. Even if you ever need to remove the rear section, you still don't have to remove the bumper section. Saves a ton of time, plus its just that much better than the stock POS.

Hi TollBoothWilley,

Thank you for your PM. For some reason I cannot reply to the PM since looks like you have disabled your PMs. So I will ask my questions here if I may.

1. Does the shroud come powder coated. If not, please let me know how much extra would that cost.
2. I read here (http://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v ... led-3.html) that the coolant drain hole was on the wrong side. Is it still the case or will you correct it when you make the new ones.

Thanks,
Andy

You probably can't send PM since you are a new member with less than 10 posts. My PM's are not disabled.

The pictures show where the hole is located. It is on the drivers side - the side that the lower coolant hose and radiator drain from. However, if you drain your radiator you will probably take off the rear section of the shroud anyways.

From that other thread when they talk about the hole being on the wrong side...that wasn't meant for coolant to begin with. It was for AUTO trans fluid drainage. I have a hole on both sides now - 1 for coolant and 1 for AT fluid.

I dont powdercoat them. Its aluminum and does not rust so there is no reason for PC. If you want it a different color painting it is much more cost effective. You can get a can and spray it yourself for $5.

Benefits:
Metal protects better than plastic
oil door - you can remove 2 bolts and easily change your oil without taking off 16 bolts & 3 clips (for 2007 g sedan)
bumper rigidity - better airflow and stability at high speeds
Stock plastic tends to rip off from the bumpers from so much flex and this won't
