I'm looking to swap my MAF sensor and Camshaft Position Sensor. I found some good prices online but I'm not sure who the OEM manufacturer is in Canada. As a long shot I tried asking Nissan and they told me that the OEM maker is "Nissan" LOL.... :wtf2:

I think the OEM manufacturer is actually Hitachi but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

I doubt those parts are different between US and Canada spec. Isn't the only difference between the two the mandatory use of DRL's in Canada?

I also doubt the specs are different. However, from what I understand the US has different emissions regulations per state wheras Canada's is pretty much the same everywhere. Also, when I was on this website looking up parts (rockauto.com) I found that some parts had US flag or Canadian flag beside it (sometimes both flags). So I phoned them up and they said that some of the Mass Airflow Sensors were for US market only (the Hitachi's were US only). They sold some "CarDone" MAF sensors to the Canadian market....i'm so confused....

But long story short, on one of my other threads I mentioned my recent MAF problems. So I bought one used and it was garbage...I think I'm going to just stick with dealer parts for electrical but I dont want to pony up $330 right now....sigh

yeah, I prefer OEM for those style parts > aftermarket.

actually I chickened out and ordered a MAF sensor from eBay. This parts dealer offers a one year warranty, is based in Montreal, Canada and is selling for about $200 less than the dealer. It even comes in a fancy Nissan box... :yesnod

I figure, no harm in trying it out for a while. If it works great. If not, I'll know pretty quickly and I can easily pay the fee to ship it back. I figure $200 savings is worth the risk.

I apologize up front as this post topic is kind of melding into a similar post that I made on another board...

The new MAF from ebay just arrived today. I was pleasantly surprised to see it packed in OEM packaging (very reassuring). After a swap and pedal reset the new MAF is performing beautifully! The pedal is a lot more responsive and I seem to have endless torque and pick-up when accelerating!

It's too early to comment on the fuel economy but this new MAF combined with all of the other fixes I've made over the months...I'm expecting some pretty good numbers. I've topped up with premium gas today. I'll update the board later once I've driven it for a while.

Glad it's working out for you. Reset the ecu and go through all the relearn procedures so the vehicle will readjust accordingly.

Yeah for sure. I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and I did all of the pedal relearn procedures per this awesome article:

http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/g35-ho ... rning.html

I'm wondering though, which is better, disconnecting the battery or the pedal relearn. I'm getting mixed responses so I just did both :D
