I have recently had some issues and am selling my SUV. My dad was talking to a guy at work about purchasing my QX4. My dad explained the issues I was having and the guy said he had something similar happen on an older vehicle of his. Turned out to be a fuse that was causing the transmission not to shift right.

My question is are there any fuses that would cause this issue in a 1998 QX4?

If a fuse was blown somewhere, I'd imagine it would give a noticeable sign somewhere - i.e. trigger a check engine light, or some other obvious failure like a light failing to illuminate somewhere, or something nonessential like your horn not working.

I have read of a dirty MAF causing shifting issues, so you may want to check your MAF sensor to see if it has accumulated any grime.
