I would suggest Redline as they didn't reformulate the way BG 44K did. And since I don't drive much, I do my cars once a year (about every 12-15K miles) just before an oil change.

Modern top feed returnless injectors and their filter screens are subjected to much less gasoline passing by than old side feed units with return regulation.

FI cleaners should be used at longer intervals than older designs.

Unfortunately E10 may cause more deposits than conventional gasoline.

EXTRA Techron additive should be enough on current designs unless you buy bad watery gasoline.

A Consult Power Balance Test will show by variance in rpm which and when injectors may be dirty.

Monthly blowing out the soot exercises may be enough.

I personally recommend just the 44K once a year but I highly recommend the complete BG decarbon kit every two years or so

True so true. Or you can use Gumout Regane that has 30-40% cleaning esters in it. You can find that cheap at Wally World.

Typically, one 11oz bottle about 2 tankfuls (500 to 600 miles) before an oil change if you need it (engine stumbling, etc.). Add it with about 1/4 to 1/2 tank of gas in the car (while at the gas station) and then fill it up immediately to get a good mix inside the tank.

Only use a second bottle (right after the first tankful with BG-44K is down low) if you continue to experience any engine stumbling, etc. and the first BG-44K session does not cure it.

Absolute maximum of two bottles per oil change interval. And, even that should be considered too much ... if you find yourself using BG-44K too often, it is better to get a pressurized rail flush done.

In general, use good gas (Chevron has the same Techron ingredient in it as BG-44K - just less concentrated). And, do the occasional high-rev WOT's to clean the carbon ...

Also, use a bottle of ISOHEET (not the standard HEET) every so often (I tend to do it about every second to third to fourth tankful ... 700 to 1000 miles) to absorb water in the gas.

Ah, sorry, yes, I misspoke. Techron is a Chevron brand name ... the ingredient is the same/similar though (AFAIK) and it is just at higher concentrations in BG-44K.

My understanding anyway.

Don't bother with it; get Redline as it has the esters that BG 44K lost when it was reformulated.

I tend to get mine from eBay folks ... typically between 12 to 14 a can. I go for more than one can to save on the shipping (spread it out over each can).

Another source is http://www.everythinginfiniti.com, but they will not be as low as the eBay folks.

I don't know of any San Jose local shops that have it ... have looked a bit, but not enough to be sure of any place.

Take your pick. A lot of members are on the BG 44k bandwagon, heck I was to UNTIL they changed up the formula. Now I'm using Regane because you can easily buy it at Wal-Mart for $4.97. They don't sell Redline in my area.
