Premium recommended for high performance. Unleaded regular may be used. What have you found works the best or does it make a difference?

Thanks for having me here.

:welcome: to NICO!

Good question... We've always run premium in our '05 G. Seems like a waste to me to buy an engine that can benefit from premium and not use it. Premium fuels probably have a better additive (cleaner) package than regular as well.

That said, your ECU will adjust the timing advance to compensate for the additional knock from regular fuel if you choose to use it - so you're not going to damage your engine with it.

It's pretty similar.

From what I've noticed, there seems to be both a bit more power at the top of the power band and a bit more torque at low rpm. It's a very minor difference, and I would be the first to admit it very well could be a placebo effect.

That said, I use premium most of the time. I don't want to waste a single ft-lb!

In my Q50 and my old G35s sedan I primarily use 92-93 but will sometimes put mid-grade in and have never had any issues. For 1-2 bux a tank I'm fine with staying Premium. My coupe is tuned to a minimum of 92 so I never use anything but premium in that one.

Telcoman will come in with his successful use of low-grade in all his Infiniti vehicles.

Yup!

I get excellent MPG using regular 87 octane.

Been using it for over 9 years on both my Infiniti's and saved thousands of dollars in the 228k miles driven

I reset the computer after every fillup.

Round trip Road trip to Florida from NJ.
All regular 87 octane of course

The wife using my G37S for local trips while in Florida killed my MPG while down there.

Four fillups on the way down and four fillups for the return
