The brakes on Project Frontier have been fair at best since the truck was new a year ago. A soft, spongy pedal and long stopping distances describe it best. Bleeding the brake system did not improve the feel or stopping distances.

Are the brakes on your Frontier, Pathfinder, Xterra similar?

What year is your truck?

Have you done anything to improve your Frontier's, Patherfinder's, Xterra's brakes?

Better pads? Stainless steel brake lines? Performance brake fluid?

We plan to do a staged (reasonably inexpensive) upgrade Project Frontier's brake system and need your suggestions.

Mine were pretty horrible until I upgraded to Performance Friction pads, new rotors, SS braided lines and synthetic DOT4. Night and day compared to what the truck was sold to me with.
