I've used this forum several times and always found it very helpful. I have a 2007 G35 and at 90,000 miles had to replace a front wheel bearing. Now at 106,000 the other front bearing is making noise. This seems to me to be an unusual problem at this low milage. Has anyone else had this problem? Also the cost to replace the bearing was outrageous! The bearing was $360 and labor was $126.

100,000 miles is not an unreasonable life for wheel bearings, depending on where you drive. $360 should get you 2.

Thanks I feel better about the mileage but not so much regarding price!

I've never had an issue with wheel bearings on a number of cars over the years with mileage well in excess of 100K.

+1

Never had a wheel bearing problem on my previous 06 G35 with almost 172k miles

I wonder if the op's vehicle was ever driven thru deep water?

I know the history of the car and water is not an issue. This time I'll check prices before I get the noisy one replaced.

Thanks for the responses!

Sand? Mud? Deep dirty snow? Roads which are heavily sanded or salted? Sharp uphill or downhill s curves?

I live in an area with the last 3, and have had to replace lots of wheel bearings (Audi, Ford, Jeep), though not on my M yet as it's new to me, and these bearings appear to be pretty robust, unlike the under-designed Audi ones. (I can say that here, right?)

Not sure if you've ever bought anything from "Rockauto.com" but , I just looked up wheel bearings for your car on their website and depending on your type of car, awd, rwd, front bearing, rear bearing,... their prices ranged from $45-$145 per bearing so... keep this website in mind for the future. I buy parts from them alot. You can save some big bucks, sometimes, but not always. I compare prices at my local parts store then theirs before I buy

I just picked one up on Amazon for my g37 for less than 70.$
Autozone was 190.-250.$
Went to Rockauto they had some cheaper ones.
Amazon was better price
I believe it was by Dura International
