Finally got my M45 tuned with Uprev today.

Uprev was tuned by:

JDSMotoring
12 Industrial Drive
Old Bridge, NJ 07735
732-231-7750

Price was $600

The dyno used is a Dynotech made by Dyno Dynamics. It's the type of dyno that will give you real numbers, not over inflated numbers that most of the time add 15 to 20% more power.

My M45 has the Megan Racing mid-pipe with axle back exhaust, custom y-pipe and a K&N drop-in filter.

It was a nice day and it was about 65 degrees. Dyno with tune took almost 2hrs.

We started with a run that showed 232hp (car was running very lean) to the rear wheels and at the end we got an extra 36hp with 40torq. AFR was at 12.0

Last run was 268hp to the rear wheels

I also got 5 maps:

Eng kill
tune with 93 gas, sport
tune with 89 gas, econo
stock
valet mode, only up to 10mph

Top end limiter was removed
lower delay (WOT gas pedal) up to 20mph removed
timing was advanced
Fans turn on earlier (about 200 degrees)

Please keep in mind that the tune was done as far as it would be safe for the car.

The tune was also done with my 20" wheels & 285/30 tires & a full tank of gas:

She sounded sweet on the dyno

No problem, I probably didnt notice.. Yeah thats great I will eventually get uprevd too once i put on new y pipe and maybe an intake plus 600 sounds as a decent price for what it does to the car, but once again thanks for discovering this place and sharing it :dblthumb:

I can't take credit as Robert was the one who found this tuner, I just went with him to help with all the questions we had about this tune.

The good thing about JDS is that $600 covers the Uprev & tune until done, no extra charge for more time or extra runs on dyno if needed unlike other shops

Base was 232hp? That seems really low. I would think it would have been around 275 or so??

Thanks White-Rush

wish I had more room to take a better pic but this shop if full with almost no room at all. Dyno is set at a corner and somewhat hard to take a nice full side pic. :frown:

Just to give you an idea he has about 8 cars in the shop not counting my M and 7 more on the side of the shop with another 11 sitting on the front lawn.

Higher numbers can be seen on other brand's of dyno's

you can also get higher numbers by doing the runs on 3rd gear but most all tuners run on 4th gear.

No doubt appreciable gains (and why I am looking at an Uprev for my own M) just confused by the numbers: stock crank at ~320, 15% (high) driveline loss puts rear wheel hp at ~ 272.

Thanks rxmclaren7

Guys at the shop (waiting for tune) thought the my M had a supercharger under the cover because of how strong she was running.

Thanks Mexillis

recovery is going well, slow but well. I'm still having problems bending but I'm walking & driving now. Can't pick-up anything over 10lbs for another 4-6 weeks. I really pushed myself in getting the custom y-pipe & Uprev tune in just 1 week (don't know how I did it). The week before I was having problems getting in Roberts car. Now that the car is done I need to take it easy and relax for awhile.

I'm now sitting back & watching tv and waiting for Sandy to blast us :ohno:

I put the car away yesterday and won't take her out until this storm is done and all the city is cleaned. Car hasn't been washed for about 7 weeks now (because I can't bend at all). Need to take her to the dealer for an oil change and some how try to wash her myself before the snow season starts.

Glad you like it White-Rush

I always said the Megan Racing full exhaust is the best bang for the buck and even better if you can replace the oem y-pipe :dblthumb:

This set-up can be had for about $1,000 with a K&N drop-in filter

Wow, excellent gains Freddie!! And not just the hp and torque, all those other options and mods as well! I'm actually getting the wheels that are on your car when the weather gets nicer (sorry for the copy, but I actually saw them on a black M like mine first. Hope it's cool with you.) I also plan to probably go with the Megan exhaust as well lol. By the way, what type of coilovers are you on now? Mine's an X so my options are more limited.

And I'll be prayin for you and your's man, as Sandy approaches. Stay safe brother!

Don't worry about the wheels I have help 2 other members get the same set-up and know of 2 more M's with the same wheels too. I like the wheels alot, they look good without going crazy. Don't forget to post pics when you get the wheels :dblthumb:

Jas is a nice guy and tries to answer all questions you throw at him about tunning the car. You don't have to pay extra for more maps (most only give 3 and charge more for the other 2) or even more pulls on dyno.

I'm now lowered on D2 Racing with custom spring rates.

and yes Sandy if getting closer, rain & winds are now picking up really fast. I may have to tie myself down soon :ohno: water will be the biggest problem for us here in downtown Jersey City.

good job Freddie...now let's see more of you guys get your rides tuned!! save your engines

if someone could manufacture a 'spacer' for the M45 -- like the plenum spacers for the M35 -- I think the M45 would post even greater numbers to the wheels..... :dblthumb:
