I found a mint 1992 Q45 (not T or A) in the mid west. Pearl white with than leather. No rust, interior very clean, etc. I plan on looking at the car today. 2 owner car with 108k miles. I will listen for fuel pump hum during test drive. Will see if the front timing cover has been changed, hopefully the guides have been done. Will run VIN number by dealer to see if the guides where changed.

He does say it needs an AC compressor. How hard is it to install?

He is asking $1250 what u think?

no matter how shiny and "mint" looking it is, be fully prepared do drop 3000+ into it after you buy it to restore to good operating condition.

Thats more than the car is worth. I plan on fixing the AC myself and getting a nico ecu and that's it. If the guides haven't been done, I probably will not get the car. I could get it and part it out, but I hate doing that to clean cars.

Hey is this the car in the ad below?

Do you need me to take a look at it? I'll be near it this weekend on Cantrell Rd. I have the ECUTalk diagnostic tool that I use on mine if you need to check it out.

I have the 91 version of that one..

Wow thats the car. I live in Little Rock too. I went and looked at the car. It needs some work. Body is perfect, dont think I saw one ding. NO rust. The CEL is on for miss fire. Owner says its the coils. I can tell somebody been messing around trying to figure it out. I saw sensors hanging that should have been bolted down. Timing guides are making a noise, not bad, but I can hear it. Fuel pump buzzes like a mad bee hive. Front two seats are ripped to the foam. Reverse light out.

Sad but the car is worth more parted out than driving. Resale value kills these cars. We have had three of these go thru the family. I drove a 94 in college. I just dont have the time to start another project. Working on my Talon Tsi and SLK55. Would have like to used this car as a daily, but the work is too great.

That usually is the case. I've seen Q45s described as perfect on CL ads then when I get there to look there is usually a CEL code or two and the condition is ruff.

There is a Burgundy 98 model for sale out at East End for $3,000 that doesn't look bad. That would make one nice and reliable DD.

If you ever want to drive mine sometime to see how a crisp and well maintained Q45 drives, just let me know.

One thing that did bug me about the CL ad, the location map indicated the car was in the Robinwood/Breckenridge area of WLR when the picture looked like it was made somewhere 25 miles away..

Im thinking the original owner probably lives over in that area. I haven't seen your car around town. I would have noticed it. You have a 99 maxima? I was thinking about getting one and swapping in the 09 Maxima motor. With bolt ons that motor can put down 300whp. Talking about a fun maxima!

see what I meant? only an idiot gets rid of a "perfect" car for $1250.....the only reason they sell is because it needs $$$$ in repairs and they dont see the value in spending the money on such an old car.

I have come across some deals where the person really needed to sale. I bought a 2006 SLK55 AMG fully loaded for $15k with on ly 49k miles. The girl that owned it visa expired and she was being deported in a week. She was asking $30k on ebay. I offered half and got the car. I plan on driving it for a few years then selling it for what I paid or more.

Sux this car didnt work out. less than $2k for a good running G50 is cheap. I paid $2k for the one I have now here in FL. 176K, clean inside and outside but the suspension needed a full overhaul and my A/C has issues also, and a few other things. Kinda funny how the market for these cars has changed. I have fully restored this car and attempted to sell it recently to raise some cash for my daughters daycare and got 0 hits, not one call. Might be a sign that I should keep it but I thought i'd at least get an offer (I advertised it for $3800). I bought my first 92 Q back in 2005 when I was living in CT for $2500, clean, 125k! Got it from this richy lawyer guy who said his daughter couldnt handle the car. Maybe you can troll some of the rich neighborhoods in your area for a deal like that. I found this car parked at a gas station just a few blocks away from this guys house.

I am toying with the idea of selling mine. 02 Q45 with 55K (not a typo). Very good - if not excellent - condition (for real, no BS), silver/black, two 1.5" long dings right rear fender; quarter-sized ding above end of the bumper cover driver side front fender. Base model - no nav. Everything works, non smoker, leather in excellent shape, originally a Texas car, now in Atlanta. I am the third owner, bought it this past Feb. It is simply too big for my wife to be comfortable driving, otherwise I would not consider selling.

The owner texted me today asking what I thought the car was worth.

I told him $500. Which is twice what a junk yard would offer.
