The high ground clearance looks well-suited to Russian roads.

Well since Nissan / Renault owns Dacia, and Dacia is intended for countries with low quality fuel and / or bad roads, I don't see why the need Datsun. They seem to be following the high suspension / small rim philosophy of Dacia as well.

Remember, these are uber-cheap (like Yugo-spec) cars for Russia, India and Indonesia.

It's bc Dacia is French for Datsun.

Installing on it a rear spoiler surely will make it look good.

Looks exactly like it fits the bill. When Nissan first announced this, a car like this is what I saw in my head.

Anyway, on to more pressing matters. Look! Its the new Dacia Sandero!

Exactly what I was thinking. I spent 2 years as the token American part of a Russian Alliance in an MMO. I think it looks perfect for the Russian market. They don't like flashy aggressive looks. It is looks simple, clean, and modern. I think it will do well.

It actually has the proportions of a Lada.
