i have only driven the car about 10 miles or so since lowering it and with a 7 year old and a newborn(3 months) the preferred mode of transport is our expedition or f150 4door. i will have an alignment done in the next 2 weeks after that i will see how out of spec it is. for now the car only moves 25-50 miles a week if that.

How hard was the installation of your new springs? Could you also tell me the username you bought the rotors from on ebay, I would like to buy a set also? Thanks.

the installation was hard because of the heat and i had no manual to guide me through it like a haynes manual or something. the rear is easy the front you will need a spring compressor and air tools. the rotors were simple just take off the ebrake. the company was trinet rotos do a search on ebay they should come up.

I'm going to go ahead and install it myself. I'll do a write up for anybody else that wants to install springs on their M. Did you torque the bolts back to specs?

YES UNTIL MY IMPACT WRENCH GAVE OUT, COMPRESSING THE RIGHT SIDE WAS MUCH EASIER WITH A BETTER BORROWED IMPACT WRENCH FROM A FRIEND.

Any update on this? Did it align within factory specs? Also do you have pictures of your car now after the drop settled in more?

now i have driven an approx. 500 miles or so the alignment is most definitely off i need an alignment but again the car onlt moves maybe 50-75 miles a week. with christmas and my wife and daughter's birthday i will most likely wait until january to get the alignment done. i do not like the rotors however they still make a kind of scraping sound about 50% of the time when i am driving. there is almost no clearance between the pads and the rotors i woul dhave thought by now the brake in period would have passed. i will probably get the cryo frozen rotors when i get the money. i will try to get some pics after i get the car cleaned.

I read your PM but you dont have your enabled so I cant reply to you except here:
how r ur trinet rotors doing? did you have any type of noise after you had them installed? i still have a screeching sound about 50% of the time when i am driving. i only have about 500 miles on them is that long enough for the break in period? Any help would be apprecited,
Thanks
No Squeaking of any kind. They have been really great rotors and well worth the cost.

I have warped them finally though. Have 25,000 miles with these rotors already. I was going about 100 and had to slam on my brakes when a car cut me off and put on his brakes, went from 100 down to 30 in about 2 seconds and warped them from the heat and force being applied. Still great rotors though.

what setup do you have? i have the trinet rotors and the ceramic hawk brake pads. when i spin the rotor with car jacked up in the air i can hear the screeching sound. i took a piece of chalk and put a mark on the rotor spun the wheel and when the rotor came back around the mark was gone. the brake pads are basicly sitting on the rotor without even pressing the brakes. i just do not understand why the pads would sit on the rotor like that. i might change back to the OEM pads just because they are skinnier and would allow for some clearance of the pad with the rotor.

I have Hawk HPS pads.

Did you remember to compress the brake caliper back when you replaced the pads?

I have the Hawk HPS pads too and experienced a bit of scraping for the first few weeks I instaled them. I think they are a lettle thicker than spec 10mm for OEM pads. It went away eventually, but since you drive the car so little, it will probably take you a while to wear them down so the scraping stops.
