I had a Stillen catback on my G35 coupe when I had it. I loved the sound, liked the look, but the quality of the system wasn't as good as I would have expected. It's not bad like the chinese ebay exhaust by any means, but it wasn't what you'd expect from Stillen. I've never been a fan of slip joints and exhaust clamps, ha ha. It sure did sound great though!

Definitely go with HFC's and not test pipes, the test pipes ruin the sound IMO. I had stock cats, so I can't give too much advice there. Just make sure it's CARB approved!

BTW, welcome to NICO!

From what I understand there are no CARB-approved HFC's for Cali. Some manufacturers say "CARB passable" which is not the same.

That's a bummer! Guess you'll have to swap them out for smog time if they are picky. So glad I don't have to deal with that anymore, lol.

I have the Stillen catback on my 04 sport 6MT sedan and love it. The sound is awesome and it makes the system a true dual system with crossover. I noticed a small increase in power, but nothing earth shattering (everyone knows that louder cars are faster, right?). However, when I added the Stillen cold air intake with Z-tube three months later, I noticed a big bump. Seemed to wake the car up. I think that the two mods together have a synergistic effect. Have not dyno'd the car, yet. Make sure all mods are CARB-approved. Good luck!
