I've put in a ACT and Exedy in two different b-series honda's and the ACT wore out fast but the exedy stage 1 is still holding strong. I also did a ACT in a 2001 celica GTS and the pressure plate also would't fit right or line up.My friend went threw two ACT's in his talon tsi a 2100 and a 2600

I'm putting a Exedy Stage 2 in my SR.

i would go with exedy. act clutches don't hold power very well, nor do they last long if you push it.

you can get a stage 2 exedy clutch. they're equilvalent to my hks racing clutch. they go for around 340

i've driven ACT and Spec clutches, but none of them have offered the ease of engagement and the holding force of my Exedy.

the a stock application, I think the ACT clutch would be alright. Say if you were to be clutch kicking or dumping the clutch alot, I'm not sure if the ACT clutch would be right for you. For a stage 1, ACT or Exedy would be both be fine, but my personal preference would be the Exedy since the people who i know that have them in their car love it. That and the ACT clutches I've had don't hold power well at all on high hp or dumping at 4K+ rpm but this was on a twin turbo Z. But i'm not sure about it on a stock turbo 240sx, it could be fine.

I have the ACT S/S on a stock blacktop. Engages smoothly and catches hard when you need it to, good for a daily driver, no complaints here. Don't have any experience with Exedy. I would reckon ACT is better for a streetable, basic setup like mine as opposed to a 300whp+ application.

i have an ACT street/strip, i personally like it alot, very streetable but still has lots of grabbing power, i cant really compare it to a stage 2 exedy since ive never driven or owned one

my motor did have a exedy stage 1 when i first got it, didnt feel like it was holding power very well, never chirped them in 3rd and barely in 2nd, my ACT on the other hand can chirp them in 4th gear

its been in 1yr now and im about to pull me engine for more upgrades soon, and i will check it out and see how much damage ive done, i did over 70 1/4 mile drag runs this past summer at over 13psi, 4 12 sec runs, so i might just replace the disk for the hell of it, only like $135 for a new disk

vid of me chirpin tires through 4th: if video fails just click my sig, its hosted there http://0302.netclime.net/1_5/7...h.wmv

I know exedy made the disc for the new street disc's but the pressure plate? Dunno, I like my ACT with the heavy duty pressure plate.

Bought an exedy stage 1. Went with OEM style Exedy's for KA setups in the past and they hold up to a ****load of abuse.

i hear puck'd clutches go out alot quicker than organic disc. Ive had my ACT for 5 months and love it. Only complaint i have is that my clutch pedal bracket broke lol. But its ok, cuz i got a nice non-rusted nismo reinforced mount However, for my next clutch i will be getting a nismo super coppermix ya figure a clutch and flywheel is about 900. why not spend a lil bit more for a hyper single or coppermix?

Exedy stage 2 clutch in my car was harsh the first two days, I hated it. On the third day, it was like butter and love it. I think you just get used to it like anything else.

i just replaced my ACT 6-puck un-sprung disc with an ACT street/sprung disc. The street disc is VERY streetable with the Heavy-Duty PP. I did like the grab of the 6-puck un-sprung disc as it fealt like it would hold any amount of power and wanted to rip the tranny out of the car. BUT the reason i replaced was my tranny was making sounds, thought it was a loose flywheel/PP bolt. It turned out the center hub with the splines/teeth on the 6-puck disc that go onto the tranny input shaft had gotten stripped/worn down so the clutch disc was sitting very loose on the tranny shaft . So now i have the street disc which is great for daily driving, but i don't really feel the engaugement like before. Still in the break in process so next week i should give it some hard tests. With the street disc/heavy duty pp it feels almost exactly the same as my friends s13 and another friends s14 with the exedy stage 2 3-puck sprung disc.

-ACT told me the street disc and HD PP should still hold 400-440lbs/tq. it just grabs easier. My 6-puck was only 1yr old and it only had 2 3krpm launches and many hard highway run shifts.
