Hi, I am a 2001 Nissan Skyline V35 owner, but the G35 is essentially the same car from all my research. I was troubleshooting a check engine light issue which only causes the engine to take longer than normal to turn over, but I don't have a JODB scanner. So, during my investigating I took apart the in tank fuel delivery unit (pump, filter, etc.). Since then the car now has a new issue which I am sure I most likely caused; now the engine surges and loses power when attempting to quickly accelerate. If I increase speed slowly it is fine, but going over say 3500 rpm's it begins to rev radically gaining and losing power until I back off of the accelerator. I am wondering if I got air in the line/system and how to remove the air if I did? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have to re-register the car on 26 Feb.
