Like the title says anyone know of a engine damper that will work for a top mount setup? I know they make ones that mount to the drive side strut tower and to the side of the head, but im pretty shure it wont clear the compressor on my topmount setup. Its for a s13 with a s13 redtop btw.

Just run solid motor mounts.

i have never seen one that mounts to other side.. Not sure how well it'll work since the motor "torques" to the driver side..

here are some pics of Top Mount SR's with dampers.

Dunno mani/Turbo combo.. have you test fit yours yet?

I've seen dampers used on cars that need them, but I've never heard of a 240 that "needed" one. If you were using stock 200,000 miles engine and tranny mounts on a built SR you might need one, but if you use quality new mounts like Nismo, Cusco or some of those solid ones I'm pretty sure it's unnecessary.

Alright yah i think its just time that i replace the mounts... time to go solid or at least urethane.

I've always wondered why the torque dampeners go on the us drivers side because the motor actually tilts toward the passenger with the torque. I've watched it happen on numerous dyno runs. The way that they are designed with the piston it just seemed like it should be on the other side. Maybe I just don't understand the mechanics of the torque dampener.
