Dunlop SP 7000 Directional?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Hi all

So I have the OEM Dunlops on a 2010 AWD EX35. I am doing their rotation and I noticed that the Infiniti manual says to rotate only "front to back", on the same side.

Yet, the tires are none directional (at least there are no indication of that on the tires or on the web). A web search tells me that they are asymmetrical. fine. The tire identifies an inside-outside wall.

I would much prefer rotating then in criss cross, as normal tires.

Are the Dunlops non directional? If so, can I rotate them as normal tires Right to left and back to front? I would assume this would extend the life of the tires...

Thanks all

Ice

You mean we can rotate them right to left and criss cross? Not sure "yes" to which question....

Yes, criss-cross them to gain whatever life you can out of those crappy tires.

Start saving some money for their replacements.

How many Kilometers do you have on them?

I just got them on today (took the winter's off).

I have about 25,000 km on them. Perhaps less. I still have about 6 to 7/32th left, based on a tread gauge.

What do you all recommend as replacements? I'd like a quiet tire that performs (if there is such a thing).

The Michelin primacy MXV4 is the best seller... and the ones that most people here on NICO use as a replacement for the Duncraps.

Recently, some people are installing the Michelin Defenders, but despite the fact that they fit, they do not come with the OEM's speed rating.
