Hello all I haven't really had a chance to post much about my car, but this past weekend I was able to install a set of D2 coilovers and drilled and slotted rotors. Very very special thanks to The Bodyguard!!! Because of him, I was able to pick up the suspension brand new for a great deal! Thank you!!! Hope you all enjoy the pics.

Few Specs:
Wheels: Staggered EXE Tenfolds (front-19x8.5 et+35, rear-19x9.5 et+40)
Suspension: D2 Coilovers (Dampening settings set to 16 both front and rear)
Brakes: Brakemotive drilled and slotted rotors w/ ceramic pads (I had these on my IS300 and installed a set on my buddies 06 Civic and 05 G35. They were only $170 shipped!!)
Tint: 20% all around and 32% on the windshield
CAI: R2C (pending install)

from the looks of the pics (hard to tell) your front is much higher than the rear.

I don't know what size set-up is your tires but for the M45 I would tell you to try to set all 4 fenders at 26" (fender lip to ground) for starters.

must be a good feeling to do all 3 modz at the same time :dblthumb:

The wheels are from my 07 TL-S I traded in for my M45 last year so they are only 35 profile tires. I have a new set of DWS tires on my OEM wheels I will install on the tenfolds. The front is considerably higher only because we didn't finish her up until 1am Sunday morning and didn't have time to readjust. All and all I am happy with her now. I am waiting a week or two for the springs to settle will readjust the height and install a camber kit at the same time. After everything settles, I'll go for the 26". Thanks for the good words and advice!

If you search brake motive on google their eBay store pops up. Tell them you are a member of Acurazine's forum and with the discount applied it will be $170shipped. Even though they are from eBay, you can read many reviews about their company. Great upgrade to the OEM brakes for the price.

Donnieb83 I just install the D2 coilovers on my M35x. I'm not sure where the shop set the damping at, but the ride is a little too stiff for me.
I know how to adjust the damping in the front, but I'm not sure how to get to the rear to adjust them. I hope you can help me out.

Thanks, Quis.

It's very easy but you will have to remove the back tire. After its removed you will see a bolt at the bottom on the coilover (I think 17mm) and two small nuts located at the top of the coilover (I think 14mm). Remove these bolts to take out the rear coilovers and the dampening knob is located on top. I set my fronts and rears at 16. Very nice ride and smoother than my sport suspension yet still semi aggressively stiff. Let me know if you need any more info.

Beautiful stance! I have the brakemotive kit with Hawk HPS pads and they can be noisy at times but they look and perform great.

So on the front just insert the hex key on top of the coilover, and turn, but on the rear I would have to make the adjustment from them bottom of the coilover? How do you get to the top of the coilover.......do you have to remove the back seat? Sorry for the newbie questions, this is my first coilover.

Unfortunately you do have to remove the rear coilover to adjust the dampening settings up top. You adjust it the same as the front, up top. You do NOT have to remove the backseat. I found out the hard way....lol. If you have any more questions just let me know.

Thank you! I used the oem pads that came with their rotors kit. Hopefully I won't run into the squeaky brakes. If so, it's only $170 invested for oem upgrades.

Will a regular jack give me enough clearance to take out the coilover, or will the car need to be on a lift?

Thanks.

you will need 2 jacks for the rear.

1 to lift the car

2 to lift the shock in order to install the lower bolt

Well I had a chance to measure the front and rear 4 days later after the install. The front is sitting exactly at 26" but the rear is at 24". The only time I get a chance to work on my car is when my wife has to work on the weekends so I will be ordering the front and rear camber kits and will be raising my rear up to the 26" just like you said soon. I plan on doing my DVD/video install at the same time (hopefully). Thanks for the help again!

Well, I have a few installs I will be doing this weekend. I have had my D2 coilovers for about 2 weeks now and they have settled completely, so I will be raising the rear to 26" to match the front. Noe thank you for the hookup once again! I will be continuing to use this thread as a document for my build and also as a maintenance thread for my 07 M45. Here is what I plan on accomplishing this weekend:

1. Raise the rear coilovers to 26" (fender to ground)
2. Replacing both engine belts. I have currently have 41K miles and have small cracks on my main belt and figured I would replace both. Replacing them with Goodyear Gatorbacks. Part #'s 4060770 and 4040372.
3. Replacing the cabin filter with (41K miles)
4. Installing interior LEDs and replacing the LEDs I had in the headlight housing that burned out. I purchased a full LED interior kit on iJDMtoy's website (http://store.ijdmtoy.com/ProductDetails ... NFINITI_09). I have gone through 2 sets of LED parking lights inside the headlights and ended up purchasing a third set, this time the heat shrinked LEDs will assist in premature wear. Here is a pic of them from VLEDS website.
(http://www.v-leds.com/5K-WHITE-4-LED-2W ... 3-1-2.html)
Image
5. Installing a set of Xentec 5000K HIDs in my foglights. I am currently running Hoen Endurance Foglights. They are probably the most brilliant yellow bulbs out on the market. Below is a quick pic for anyone thinking about picking up a set of Hoen Endurance bulbs on their car. I purchased a set for my wife's Honda Pilot also. I've used Xentec HID kits on my past 5 vehicles with NO issues. They are only $31 shipped on Ebay. Image
6. **IF I HAVE TIME** I will be installing the PA15-INIF (Audio In Module) and Naviks (Video In Module). I have a 16 GB iPhone4 and picked up an 64GB 3G iTouch, off craigslist, and will be using these to play videos/movies on my factory Navigation screen. Below is a picture of the Video input device. I purchased this off Ebay. I purchased the same item for my 07 Acura TL-S. This unit allows you to play Video on the OEM navigation screen. The 06-07 M's without the technology/journey package does NOT have AUX in audio capabilities, hence the PAC15 module. If you all would like a DIY for any of the items let me know.
Image

This same video module I installed in my 07 Acura TL-S. Yes I installed the LCD monitors monitors in my TL-S. I bought the 6" LCD screens off ebay for $35...lol!

Nice write up of your M's progress!! I like you're attention to detail on explaining your mods as small as they may seem (leds/bulbs etc.) You are very welcome for the help and advice!! I try to help out anyone that asks for help as well, looks like you're returning the favor already... :bigthumb:

Thank you! The Video module is very straight forward and I'm hoping I will have time to install this weekend. Taking off the interior pieces and running all the wires, takes the most time. I will make a separate thread with install pics to answer any questions anyone may have. For the price, you really can't beat it!

Thank you! If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have even started modding it. I wanted to be as detailed as possible so when member search the forums or google, I'll have answers for them in my thread. I will most definitely be sharing the wealth of knowledge here on the forums!

Thanks for the good words everyone. Well I have been teetering about selling my M45 but picked up another DD instead. El Paso has horrendous drivers. I keep the M in the garage most of the time now. Below are pics of my new DD and some more recent pics of my M. I picked up these new wheels helping out one of my Soldiers and wanted to do a small test fit before I sell them. In keeping with a semi-VIP theme, are these 22's too ghetto....lol? Thank you all for your input.

EDIT: I am lowered on D2 coilovers and I do not rub at all with these 22's. Full lock of the front tires, no rubbing issues. The rears are VERY close to rubbing but a simple camber kit would help in the stance. Just wanted to add this info, for any members that considered running 22's on their M.

I'm not feeling those rims. The ones you had before are better and you are right about the "ghetto" word you used haha.

Question: I have an 06 M45 Sport. When I was looking for cars the TL type S was one of the cars I was thinking of getting. What made you trade in the TL for the M

^LOL....Thank you for confirming my thoughts. I sent a picture to my wife and she said, "your car looks nice...........and ghetto." It definitely killed my semi-VIP theme of the car I was going for.

Honestly, I kick myself in the but trading in my TL-S. The ONLY reason I traded it in, was because I had orders to go to El Paso, TX and didn't feel comfortable driving there from Georgia. The car was lowered pretty low, 35 profile tires, a full ATLP exhaust and Jpipe that made the car more of a burden driving long distances. At that time my wife lived 2.5 hours away and I would always complain about my back hurting during the long drive. The M is a lot more comfortable on long cruises even with the few mods I have and ultimately traded it in for a car more "family friendly."

You just need a different style of 22"s, maybe something without the multi-lug pattern. It still looks nice though.
