Thank you all for the input on the 22's. Well, today was the first day I took my M45 on the highway to see how these rode at speeds around 60mph. To put it nicely, these specific wheel/tire combo rode like "doodoo"...lol. I am lowered 26" from the top of the wheel well to the ground with my staggered 19's. I remeasured the height when I mounted the 22''s and it raised my car nearly 1.25". Just some quick notes for other members thinking about stepping up to 22's. I will say it looked pretty sweet walking up to my car today and looking at a wall of wheels...lol!

Well it's been awhile since I've been on here since I couldn't find my log in info...lol. A few updates, another oil change at 45K miles with Mobil 1 5-30 Extended life up to 15,000 miles. I use this oil ONLY. Sometimes I cannot get around to changing my oil at 3K miles (Dad taught me old school with old school oils...lol). Very rarely I had almost 4K miles on an oil change. As we all know now these new oils today don't have to follow the customary 3K miles/3 months some of us were raised on. Also, I did a transmission drain and fill with approximately 4.5 qts @ 45K miles. I purchased 6 qts. of the MATIC-S transmission fluid for our M's on Ebay for $70 shipped. Almost as easy as doing an oil change except having to remove the plastic engine cover with four 10mm nuts to fill the transmission fluid.

I will be keeping my M45 as of now and currently have 49K miles on her. So with that being said, on to my NEXT MOD....lol. I purchased an iPod/iPhone cable off ebay that will push video and charge my iPhone at the same time. I have the NAVTEC module for video and PAC15-INFI AUX IN module for audio and will be wiring these up to push video to my M45 OEM navigation screen through my iPhone 4. My unit is currently on block leave and took a 1700 mile (one way) trip to GA to spend the Holidays with my wife and little girls (puppies). Below are a few pics of the trip and Holidays. Dont hate on the Green painters tape. I ran out of blue...lol. Hope everyone had a great Holidays. HAPPY 2013 WOOO!!!!

Well just finished installing my AUX in and Video input devices. I'm using my iPhone4 as the video and aux input device. Best part about this setup is that it charges my phone also! Few pics of the install and a video of it all. Hope you all enjoy!~

Just completed another oil change at 50,500 miles with Mobil 1 5-30 Extended life oil and Mobil 1 Extended life oil filter. I love using this oil because it's meant to last up to 15,000 miles or 1 year. I went about 5k miles since my last oil change so it's worth every penny to me! For those that buy their oil from Autozone or similar parts store, try walmart first. I paid $27 for the 5qts of oil at walmart and seen it was $36 at autozone when I went to pick up the oil filter. The Mobil 1 Extended life oil filter at my local autozone was $13 (MODEL# M1-110 for my 07 M45).

Lowered my car a little bit more today. I am currently on D2 coilovers. The fronts are MAXED out completely and the rears still have plenty of thread to lower it at least 2 more inches. I found it funny that D2 makes their coilovers this way for our cars. My current ride height is just under 25.5" inches all the way around. I DO rub in the front with my wheels all the way locked. My front wheels are 19x8.5 et+35 with OEM 245/40/19 tires. One quick pic of the current stance.

Drop looks really good but I think the front is too low.

Most just remove the oem plastic splashguard as it scrapes all the time on the M45's.

And the front D2's can be lowered more if you pre-load the spring more. You can also remove the 2nd ring for more room.

you can take the lower sleeve off and take it to a machine shop and have them shorten it for you, you just need it to be about 1"- 1.5" less.

I'm running full size tires (bigger) 245/35/20 & 285/30/20 and I now have the car set at 26" front with the the rear at 25.5"

I can drive around with the family (4 people) in the car and still hit XXXmph. City roads here are really bad

Front D2's set at 27 and rears are set at 21, I like the suspension to ride stiff.

Just watch out for your front sway bar & oil pan :frown:

Thank you for the input Freddie. It's always a pleasure receiving feedback from you. I pulled several pictures of your M and the .5" different is very hard to tell. I do think it would be wiser to raise the front some more, like you suggested.

I was wondering what are your offsets for your wheels and how wide are they? Also, how is the "stiff ride?" I think I last set mine on 17 front/rear. Thanks again for the comments! :dblthumb:

Thank you donnieb

My wheels are:

Front 20x8.5" et30

Rear 20x10 et42

Rears came in at et37 but I had them milled down 5mm making them et42, I did this because I wanted to run the 285/30 with no problems at all. I didn't want to pull, roll, fender work or use camber to make them fit.

The et37 would work with a 275/30 but I wasn't sure with the 285/30 being taller & wider.

With this set up I'm able to go on long trips with the family with no problems and when I'm alone on a nice clear road I have taken her in to the 140mph zone as she sits.

Thank you for the help. I just took my car out to go grocery shopping and remeasured my fenders and they have settled down to 25.25". I plan on raising my rear .25" and the front probably .50". The roads aren't the greatest here but they are not too bad. Just looking to make room for some more aggressive wheels.

140MPH!!! Wow.....well I know with all your exterior mods, you have just as much under the hood. It's good to know that, not only are your mods aesthetically clean, but functional as well. :dblthumb:

LOL....maybe one day if my M is as clean as yours, I'll have to make a similar shirt!

hey our cars look almost the same, just make sure when you get your t-shirt done you don't have any tape on

Diamond Graphite was the #1 color for the 06-07 M's

I was looking for a white M45 with black int but thats kinda of rare around here.

Wait a few weeks when Robert from NY gets his new wheels, He is my twin without the fender vents & wheels. The rest of his car is the same as mine (stereo, oem aero kit, dash wrap, D2's, Megan Racing exhaust, eyelids, Uprev, Sarona roof spoiler & Balsarini grill)

I'm looking forward when Robert & I hang out with the M's.

Mex is also working hard on his VIP M

and I'm waiting to see Don's new shoes :gotme

I'm so glad that so many M's are starting to get modded, I just wish more parts would be made for us.

Keep up the good work donnie and enjoy

I've noticed more new members joining. Hoping the numbers continue to grow and we have some modders among us. Then, hopefully we can have more parts of us! :ohno: I am learning a lot from the senior members and hoping to contribute more my time here. Thanks for the good words Freddie! :bigthumb:

Thank you, I'm trying. No where near as nice as yours, but at least I have another M owner to look up to!

A few updates. I picked up a used air bag setup from a great guy named Tyson from Houston. He installed the kit only about a week on his car, until he decided he's selling his M for something new. Here are a few cell phone pics he sent me of the system. He said it's a UAS kit that has plates for my D2 coilovers. I'm hoping this will work. *Fingers crossed* All and all I am ecstatic to finally be able to go air. A great member "The Bodyguard" confirmed that Tyson is a honest person and helped me pull the trigger on this air setup. Thank you again Noe!!

ImageImageImageImage

After looking through my thread, I seen that I did not have a pictures of my subwoofer system in my car. It's a DVC 12" Kicker L7 and Memphis Audio 1000.1D amp with a bass control knob. Nothing spectacular by any means, but I got a great deal on the entire setup.

Image

Thanks to Freddie and "PlatinumM35", I purchased the following decals.

Image

And here are the latest parts I received. First, a small backup camera I purchased on ebay. Now that I am lowered a little more than before, I will be using this camera as a forward camera. I plan on mounting it, where it cannot be seen from the front. It will assist when parking and pulling into driveways I have to think twice about. Plus, it's something a little different.....I guess.....lol. Next, are a set of 6.5" Kenwood head rest monitors. I installed set of monitors in my previous car and the install came out great (being my first time). I may try to make a DIY for members who are interested in doing the same. Hope you all enjoy!!

Donnie your like the 4th M that has gone to D2 Racing coilovers and in matter of weeks upgraded to an air system

Good luck I hope everything works out with the air system :dblthumb:

PS you may need to change your D2 springs in order for the Bags & struts to work properly.

I'm hoping everything does work out with the air system. If I do have to change the springs for the bags and strut to work properly, I'll be sure to post this for future reference if anyone else comes across this issue.

One thing I would recommend is to get accuair's vu4 and get rid off all those valves. If you want some tips on what to do when combining uas with d2 coilovers on an M send a pm to rookie55.

Will accuair's vu4 bolt up to this system? I am very new with air suspensions, and will be installing the system myself. Could you recommend some links on what exactly to purchase?

I have been in email contact with rookie55 and he's been awesome answering all my questions. He's currently deployed but will be back soon, so I can't wait to see what else he has in store for his M!

Great forum with great members! Thanks for the info Mexillis! :bigthumb:

No mods on the new whip. :gotme I've anxiously been holding out and not going to touch it since I've decided to save up for a big body sedan again this summer!! I've got a brand new set of tires (20") since I thought about going square 20x10" or 20x10.5" but haven't yet. Hoping to get into a newer (not NEW) Lexus LS460L!! If I go with the LS, I will be selling my brand new Hankook tires I have purchased since the Lexus will require 22"!! :dblthumb: if I find an M35 '09+ with the 7 speed auto and updated engine with the total package. I may go to another M I really like the M!! :bigthumb:

BIG BODY!!! Man you're just like me; I love my big body cars...lol. I was tempted to sell my M and get a 460 or 07-08 CLS63 but tired or car payments. There is a member on the Acura forum that has a regular 460 with 22" Vossens and it looks like a boss! He calls it Lex Luther....lol. You should still post pics of your G!!

The vu4 should connect to your digital display and switch box. To be a 100% you could call accuair and talk to tech support before purchasing, they have really good customer service and would be glad to help. I do know that it would simply any headaches and save trunk space compared to what you currently have. I'm not trying to say what you have isn't good but that the accuair stuff is easier to install and IMO money well worth it.

Well, our unit returned from a 3 week field exercise this weekend. As you all know, I purchased an air ride system from Tyson out in Houston and it turned out to be more of a headache. I used this weekend to install it, but ran into a huge issue with the system. One brass fitting is cracked, and two PTF elbow fittings are leaking air. Everything was closed by the time I found out so, I was unable to install the system. :tisk:

Also, an update to my front dampening settings; I am currently set on 24 with some solid advice from Freddie. Car doesn't seem much stiffer but it's noticeable on bumps I would have to slow down to 20mph. I can now drive over them at 35mph with no issues. Thank you again Freddie!

Mexillis, I took your humble advice and purchased the VU4 with 1/4" threaded ports. I bought 45' of new 1/2" air line since Tyson's lines were unusable. I purchased 1/4 NPT to 1/2" PTF fittings for it so I could still utilize the new line I purchased. Also, I purchased the Touchbox module on bagriders.com that will allow me to control my bags from up to 50ft away with my ipod/iphone. With that said, I am thinking about selling my old management system, digital gauge system, and 6 switch box. What do you think is a reasonable price to ask? Thanks again Mexillis!

If you do a search on here, there is a DIY on how to install the PA15-infi module. This is how I installed mine. As far as the Naviks module, I have a PDF file from Naviks showing the step by step install. Shoot me a pm and I will email it to you. :bigthumb:

Sucks that you had problems with some fittings. I think every first timer installing bags runs into that. Be sure not to over tighten them and crack the tank. Some tips would be to make it hand tight then go over with soapy water bottle and go over the fittings that make bubbles. Idk how far you got into it but loctite 545 is really good to make a proper seal and I redid all my fittings instead of using Teflon tape once I found out about it. Is there any reason for going with 1/2 lines? Have you been in a ride with that size before?
