The following is some audio of me starting the 00 q45. When first starting, it starts right up. But after driving for about 30 mins or so. If I leave the car and come back to start it the start takes like 7+ seconds. Sometimes more. I've waited as long as 2 hours while in class only to come out to ggggggggggggggggggggggg Vrooooom. As opposed to ggg Vroom.

There was actually TSB on this, I can probably dig it up when I get home.

Next time this happens, press the gas down about 1/3, and see if that helps it go. I don't remember what the solution to this is (it's in the TSB), but I know that was the way to diagnose if that's the problem.

It doesn't sound like a starter though. It sounds more like a fuel delivery issue.

Dude, you know all things Q. I do have a bad gas smell. When I had the pads done I noticed behind the rear right wheel where the gas lines are, one was cut. The mech that was doing the pads told it looks like they tried to delete it and that the line was no longer in use.

you definitely have something sketchy going on there. I believe the fuel lines on that car go out the trunk on the passenger side, up around the rear axle, and underneath the car outside the frame rail.

You should have 2 lines, a feed and a return line. If this isn't working the way it's designed, you've definitely gotta look into fixing that.

Hey Elwesso, can you tell me the name of the fuel line parts? I checked auto zone, and ebay. And I'm not sure what to get. Roughly how much to replace the lines?
Thanks!

I highly doubt any of those places will have what you need. Best I can tell, you'll need to replace both the fuel pipes, there's a feed and a return pipe...

I believe those are the correct part numbers. Call up Infiniti of Scottsdale 877-778-5615, ask for Dan or Frank in parts, and tell him Wes sent you. Looks like those fuel tubes are about $40 each, not too bad. Explain exactly what you need, and they'll get you set up. If you're not sure, I'd recommend getting someone to look at the car to ensure you get what you need.

Bad news. Those parts are no longer available. Today after leaving the car wash I decided I was keeping this Q rather than taking on surprise problems from another. Sadly, the death blow has struck.

I think before you jump to conclusions you need to figure out exactly what's going on and what needs replaced.

I just thought of that. The dude that did the o2 sensors said there's a prob w/the gas line but he didn't really look into it and was quite vague about the whole thing.
One of the hoses are gone. There's a little white square looking thing w/4 ports. There's only three hoses going in. It was brought to my attention by the dude that put in my pads (which are finally back to normal after a week of being soft.). Since the tire was off I was able to see. But didn't take a pic of it. Bone head move I know.
On a much more positive note. I just fixed something myself! Hands are dirty and all. I found the hose for the water to exit. It's was caked up w/mud. Completely blocked off. That's how the water got in. It wasn't loose or anything. Just backed up so the water trickled in. It rained a lot for the past few days. So I'm guessing that's how it got so full. I took plenty of pics to show you guys, I'm excited about
It.

Nice job man, glad to hear it was the drain tube. Common issue.

As for the fuel lines, you don't need OEM. Though it's always better in the case of prefab shapes etc...you can easily just use a non-OEM line as long as it is DESIGNATED FOR FUEL...they are lined...do not use regular rubber hose...

Need more info on this. Did this work? what "line" exactly is this? I have the exact same problem with my 93. I sometimes have about 2-3 starts per day that require me to turn the key and let the car crank for about 5-7 seconds before it fires up. Read somewhere it could be due to an injector leak and burning off the excess fuel?
