do i need the black piping coming off my air filter?
I have a 91 300zx base. got into to some front end damage. to make a long story short. i took the piping out of it. no problems for 3 months. I only drive her once a week. anyways she has been dying when i put her in neutral coming to a light. and running kinda rough. the exhaust sounds more muffled and putting sound. rather then a clean sound. its the original exhaust. can anyone give me advice.

Sounds like you're having the cone filter mod problem. If you have a cone filter, try the flower pot mod in the tech articles.

^^^^^This, but with the muffled sound makes me wonder about the cats. How bad was the hit to the front end? Is it more noticeable when hot? Does it shut off all the time when in neutral?
