I like the idea of having them come on when the door is opened.

So they have shipped...from Taiwan. 3-7 days is the estimate. We will see how close to that they come.

My box from Taiwan showed up yesterday. I still need to get the paint before I truly start this project. The box was well packed and arrived undamaged. My initially impression is a good one. They feel real nice; smooth and strong. The the light-up strip, which looked a little flimsy in the pictures, is mounted very securely.

Installing them today. Got one side done and almost ready to go on the car. Definitely some surprises and unexpected modifications to make it work. Not sure if I will get to wire them up today but at least they will be on the car. The hard part should be done today. More to come.

Hello Folks,

Will this fit on my M35x 2010? Any difference in mirror sizing of 2010 M35x vs 2011 M35h or M37? The vendor sites says this is for 2011-2013M.

Thanks

Yes. 2010 is the old body style car before the update. Different cars...2006-2010 is chasis code Y50, while 2011+ is chasis code Y51.

Please visit this forum for the 2006-2010 model...the forum you posted in is for the 2011+ car.

Update! Sorry for the delay. I was very disappointed with the brightness of the LED's. It is nowhere near what is shown in the advertisement pictures. Ill put up some side by side of the sellers picture and the actual. Because of this I started working out a way to add an LED strip to the back of the lens rather then just at one end like it is now. The strips I ordered actually arrived yesterday from Hong Kong. I did a quick test last night and they look like they will work with much better output. In addition to the lack luster LED's there are some aspects of this DIY that will scare most people away from it. Not me though.

The full DIY write up is still in progress and will be completed once I am happy with the output and finalize the install.

Advertised VS. Actual VS. Planned

I ordered the LED stips used in the picture above and then figured out how to mount them later. For the solution I settled on they are too long so shorter set is in the mail now. More waiting. :tisk:

Has anyone thought of putting the Q70 turning signal mirrors on a 11-14? I would like to swap them out any thoughts?

thank you

I definitely did. I bet they will bolt up and would probably be relatively easy to wire up for someone experienced with it. It might be a while before they are available for a decent price though.

Just as bright/dim. Since it is really just cosmetic without a real purpose, I am going to leave it as is. It will be wired up to come on when the door is opened.

I called today Q70 mirrors $1200 each. I like what you did it looks so much better. Was this hard to wire up for turning?

$1,200 EACH? WTH? That's ridiculous.
