So basically what youre saying is that you have an unrealistic expectation of how fog lamps are supposed to perform. Gotcha.300winmag wrote:There are useless because they only light up 10' of road in front of you. Whether they were made to do JUST that or not is irrelevant, for ME that makes them useless.
The D2's driving beam is very focused and will be properly aimed to NOT blind oncoming drivers.
Troll? You start a thread asking for peoples opinions about "fog options" and i give you mine backed up with factual information, and just because it differs from your idea im a troll? Whatever floats your boat brother. Heres a word of advice... In your future threads, to prevent anyone from actually providing you with helpful information which youre obviously not looking for, you should specify that what youre looking for are not actually "opinions", but for people to read about your silly and dangerous ideas and say "dude youre cool".300winmag wrote:Dude go troll somewhere else and leave my thread.
Do you really think replacing the Halogen H8 35watt with an HID D2S 35watt will accomplish this? For that matter, what are the legal restrictions in Canada in regards to type of bulb and wattage permitted? Also, you may find the RCMP have a dim view of your HID fog lights.Pencil beam lamps are more properly called "driving lights", not fog lamps. These are intended to supplement long distance vision in clear weather. They should be mounted above the bumper, aimed straight forward and either dead level or slightly downward (never to the left). Like headlights, the top of the beam should be no higher than level with the road so not to blind oncoming drivers. They will light the road straight ahead only, nothing to the sides at all. Using them in foggy conditions is counterproductive, as they will produce more glare and probably reduce vision.
Lol.... You know its real easy to be a tough guy on the internet... Just for that, I'm going to again, point out how silly and dangerous your idea is...300winmag wrote:Exactly when did I say I needed fog lamps? I asked for different options ie, something different. If you cant read that's your problem. Off with you troll.

lets move past the BS, and stick to the topic: FOGLIGHTS300winmag wrote:I think you need to go back and re read who the tough guy was. I explained to you why my fog light are usless to.... ME. Then your smart a$$ attitude came out.
These pictures are meant to show the output of the lamp, they are not properly aimed nor that bright. Long exposure does a lot for a pic. Aaaand when did I say I was going to be driving around town with these on? I'm not an idiot who goes around blinding other drivers for the cool factor.
Fyi both people that helped me in this forum did not have a smug attitude and guess what? They're not ranting like a child.
Whatever makes you feel better. I'll listen to ImStricken and stay on topic... If you visit HIDPlanet.com, you will find plenty of useful information about different types of fog lamp setups as well as first hand experience with different types of lighting. The best type of fog light for you would be projector fogs from Blazer or even the Ford Fusion. Those can be used on the road and actually do have a focused beam that throws longer than our OEM fogs. If you were looking for opinions on OFF ROAD lighting setups, ie. Dually D2s, then there are a plethora of other options out there for you as well. And yes, for OFF ROAD use, the D2s will perform well.300winmag wrote:I think you need to go back and re read who the tough guy was. I explained to you why my fog light are usless to.... ME. i saw them first hand. they are in fact VERY bright, and blinding. the key here is finding a set that is made for a "Driving Pattern" of light.300winmag wrote:These pictures are meant to show the output of the lamp, they are not properly aimed nor that bright.

Dude that's rough! Had a torn shoulder tendon repaired a few years ago. Re-anchored it in four spots, trimmed down some bone spurs and removed some of the scapula. Lost some mobility, but i can use my arm again. A word to the wise, heed your surgeons advice and allow yourself plenty of time to heal. Also find a good physical therapist, it will help with the recovery and healing process.ImStricken wrote:yup, i have a torn labrum since oct 7th. i hear these are a doozy to get over. (bones grow, muscles grow, but cartridge and such doesn't - so healing time is longer than with others)Rogue One wrote:Dude that's rough!
