Hey I ran across this and thought it might help with the job, if you want to go this way with the replacement. There is a bypass but I think this is better than that.

Figured I would give you something since youve had a butt load of views and not one answer. Good Luck...

the whole reasnt to relocate the sensor is to save the 4 hour job of removing the old one, on and N/a I'd have no reservations about ding the bypass

I was looking at my detonation sensor connection and it looked like the connection is only hooked up to the injector and that it. I'm lost? I looked it up and i know the difference from the vtc connectors and the detonation connector.

try looking at these two. top one is explanation on det sensor, the second one is the relocation.

if you want to spend the total least, but leave your car unprotected without a knock sensor, you can get this

http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_in ... ts_id=5580

but if you do the relocation, on the first link, there is a link for the triple covered harness, I would recommend that and just get a sensor from ebay, mine was 30 bucks and if it doesnt work, i can send it back. and the second link up there explains completely how to do the relocation, 3 different spots.

Yeah ha a little late. The links are bad because the OP was probably on a mobile device and for some reason the phone or what ever shortened the links and replaced the text with periods. Weird

I'm told the check engine light is coming on because of the knock sensor and it's going to cost $1000 to repair.
Is this bu11sh1t???

Nope, it's a real pita to replace it correctly, you can do the bypass or relocation and save money. That's what most people do unless the engine is coming out fo the car anyhow.

Before I'd even bother to relocate it, I'd check the codes myself to be sure that's why you have a check engine light. Certainly would not rely on "somebody said that's why." Takes 5 minutes and two screw drivers or a 10mm wrench.
