Daytime running lights (DRLs) are standard in Canada, but not in the US.
Have any US owners of the our M models been able to turn on the fog lights as DRLs?
A more obvious question is why doesn't Nissan/Infiniti offer daylight running lights, even as an option, which are now standard on ALL other car manufactures!?

Yes, you need a little device to do so. The name escapes me now, but maybe one of the other members can chime in. I believe it was like $50 for the module.

On my 2011 M56, I always leave my fog lights in the ON position and my light stalk in the AUTO position, which makes my headlights always turn on day or night, and I only get two complaining dings when I turn off the car before all headlights and fog lights turn off automatically. So there's the poor man's DRLs for the 2011/12 M. One problem, though, is that a light sensor is still affecting the dimness of the dash and nav system, so that can sometimes be a pain. The other big problem is that having headlights on during the day keeps all the interior button lights at the lower dim level, so it's very difficult to see things like whether Forest Air and Recirculation is on when the sun's shining through the windows.

Not having daytime running lights is just another on my list of "what was Infiniti thinking?", like not having mirror turn signals, inconsistently programming the Music Box interface to work differently than the iPod interface, not having a secondary sun visor (or making the main one long enough to cover one's entire side window when moved to the side), and having the side mirror open/close switch backwards (at least in the 2011s - not sure if that was fixed for 2012). I love my car, but some of these little missed details really can get annoying when considered all together.

At least the sun visor not being able to fold forward all the way has been fixed in the 2012 models!

Boo-Hoo dude! Everything you listed (here and elsewhere) is personal preference. If you didnt like it, why'd you buy the car? If it didn't bother you enough to not buy it, why are you always bitching about it? Get over it, man.....

Must be a lot of persons' personal preferences since Infiniti has been taking steps to fix a lot of these problems. I'm glad you're happy with your perfect 2007 M35S. Silly me thinking that anyone would want to ever buy a better car. I'll just call Infiniti and tell them that sunoco says there's no need to upgrade and improve the M line anymore. Infiniti will be thrilled at how much they'll save in R&D based on your own personal opinion.

It's a great man who likes a backwards side mirror folding switch and believes it defines the entire car when one of his poor sycophants complains about it. I'm proud to share this message board with you. It was silly of me to buy a car with a snappy 420HP V8 in extra-cool Malbec Black that gets 19+ MPG and has numerous advanced safety systems and a rockin' 19-speaker Bose system - all for less than $60,000 - when the car also comes with a sun visor that wasn't designed properly.

Maybe you didn't notice this thread about no DRLs was started by someone else. I guess his personal opinion is wrong too. I'll let him know your personal opinion is more important. m4m will be relieved that he doesn't have to be upset about that missing feature any more.

Good job being a smarta$$ Sunoco. I agree 100% with Blastphemy. When you pay this much money for a vehicle, you expect some thought goes into some of these little things. I have only had my M37 for a week and, although I love it, can already see touches Infiniti didn't build in that blows my mind. DRL's are at the top of the list. Who in 2011 doesn't have these standard??? Also, no turn signal on the mirrors or side body of the car is shocking. I'll live with it, but clearly oversights by Infiniti.

So let up some on others who want to see continued improvements. Geez.

The sun visor thing really bugs me too... Not long enough to cover the side, and won't extend open enough.... I never even thought to check that out when I was purchasing the car... Not that it would have changed my decision, but still....!

I am new to this forum so please excuse any mistakes. I have a 2011 M37 and am interested in changing out my stock parking light bulbs with LEDs (5000K) to use as driving lights. There are so many different types of LEDs that my head is swimming. I want the brightest possible but then there are forward firing and 360 degree etc. I see V-Leds are used by some folks, then there are these (http://www.carlights-sale.com/white-4sm ... p-822.html) from Car Lights Sale. Does anyone have any experience with these or are there any others that you would suggest? Thanks for any help that anyone can provide. Regards.

DJ - thanks for the link! I did an extensive LED Conversion to my 2007 M but nothing for DRL's yet. Thus, very familiar with V-LEDS but not Carlights.
