Hi everyone, I want to see if we can compile a list of the Datsun 320 VIN we have here.  For instance we list the Year/Cab Type/VIN.  This way we can see what the differences are among the years and cab styles.  I think mine was the #50 NL320 truck made.

1963       NL320      L320360050
I got the Datsuns, Chevy's, Fords, Triumphs, and Jeeps. All before 1973 and all are driveable. Visit the custom shop at: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/sacparts/

I know several other makes that have a registry for specific models, or specialty packages. Just found it odd that the NL appears to be relatively rare and there is no comprehensive, single source point to register the trucks...

I'm not volunteering, I just don't have the time or ability to manage it. But it sounds like it is something that could/should be done.

Scrap metal prices are continuing to climb, and perhaps if someone knew that ole' Datsun were worth more in the hands of the right person, they'd not scrap it.

Obviously, the site would need to be google/search engine registered, and possibly even added to wiki...?

Just my .02 cents....

I'll definitely be posting pictures and more likely questions on this forum. I've to say this is THE best forum I've ever belonged to or seen for that matter. You guys are all really helpful and enthusiastic. I should have known that it would be that way though. As I am a 15 year 510 lover and owner. Datsun folks know how to treat each other!

1965 L320: L320013719D - Not sure if the "D" was added at the dealership or if its original, it's a much larger stamp.
My L320 has been in the family for most of its 43 years. Dad bought it back in 65 and I drove it in High School. Dad sold it to a friend of his while I was of playing in the Army and I bought it back with the same dollar bill!

my orange datsuns number is NL320460288. It is a 1964. I also have a 63 NL320 that I have used as a parts rig. I also have a L320 that is also a parts. Both parts trucks are on wheels and were towed to their current location. I know of two other NL320's that have been sitting outside for a long time, I don't know what there is left of them or what there ID numbers are. I would put a picture of my driveable orange truck here but am having some technical difficulties getting more pictures through photo bucket. I do have one pic in the general chat area if someone would like to look at it now.

Re: 1971 Pickup

Postby frankazin » Sun Aug 02, 2009 9:44 am

I have just stsarted to rebuild a 1971 Red 521 Pickup.
Vin #PL521741852
Eng# L18 117185

Added that because the previous owner added an 1800 engine to replace the 1600cc. I have not come across what else he has done although I suspect he has upped the size of the carb. He also has some HUGE Mickey Thompsons on the rear and it will "pop" them in the two lower gears. However, I have not yet been able to find a list to decode the engine number. As a result, I do not know what it came out of, etc. All I know is the it is at or near 1800cc. Any help?

Thanks,
Frank Cordier

I have a 1964 NL320 that I am restoring. It is Vin number NL 320360176 I also have a clear Washington State title and vin plate for my 1963 L320 parts truck vin number L320-3-00363 that I am scrapping. Would it be appropriate to put this for sale in the classifieds?

Also, guys - As you see 320's pop up on Ebay or Craigslist, PLEASE, please enter them here.

I am compiling a database that will be searchable and accessible to all.

Let's see how many of these we can account for!
