Hey all,

I'm Daniel from Las Vegas. I just got into working on cars last year, and i'm loving every second of it. i just last month sold my EG hatch
Image
because i wanted to go sideways. So i bought an sr motor from a friend and set about making a daily driver with tons of help from Traverse Hilsabeck, a Pro Am drifter http://www.facebook.com/pages/Traverse- ... 7038747896. This is my first ground up build, my first Nissan, my first RWD, and my first boosted car.

Image

Mods right now:
Motor was resealed new gaskets, t28 turbo, godspeed fmic, full 3" exhaust with cat delete, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, battery relocated to trunk, godspeed radiator, samco hoses, warlbro 255lph fuel pump, VLSD, 18" knock of rims w/ black powder coat, short throw shifter w/ supra knob, Driveshaft Shop one-piece driveshaft.

Right now all the bushings are bad, so there's an Energy kit on the way, as well as tein outer tie rods, new ball joints, and new boots for the steering rack. Eventually, when i get enough cash, i'll replace the windshield and get a BOV. It's currently only running the stock 7psi and surging, but i want to raise it to ten with a boost controller eventually.

EDIT: found pictures of when i first bought the car as a shell w no suspension/engine

Image
of course he took the center garnish and exhaust off, i removed the stupid extra nissan badge and stickers
Image
not a bad interior
Image
dash cracked to hell, no gauge cluster (bought a dual cam cluster from traverse)
Image
stripped the interior pretty much including the hub in the picture
Image
everything you see in this picture was taken out. the only things he left in the bay were a few hardlines, a blown brake booster, and that's about it
Image
as you can (kind of) see, there's no suspension. He removed everything including the front and rear links, ties, brackets, EVERYTHING. It took five people to get it on a tow truck. Not only that, but the stock brakes he put on so he wouldn't have to give up the z32 front brakes he had were put on the wrong side and the rear ones are bad. the guy was ridiculously greedy (he just wanted to sell all the other parts, wouldn't budge an inch) and left almost nothing in the car. not to mention the wiring is still giving me headaches.

it's all good now, i have the car, my project is started

Yes stock links, and some crappy sprimgs which i think are tokoicko. I have no clue as far as the rim width goes, but im running 225s without any issues

Finally got the parts in. Hoping to do the Ball Joints tomorrow after school, then take care of the majority of the bushings saturday.

so the impact i used to tighten the pass rear lugnuts when i put new rubber on was dying. Turns out it didn't tighten them down like it normally does. As a result, the wheel vibrated so hard it snapped the studs while driving, and i was overtaken by my own tire. Put new studs on her today and she's back up and running. Unfortunately, since i was doing studs i didn't have a chance to take care of the bushings. Next weekend, then.

PSA: DOUBLE CHECK YOUR LUGNUTS!

Alright so i've been slacking a while, i did a few text only updates on reddit, but i haven't been on here for a while.

Finally got the last stud replaced, so now i'm running all 16 lug nuts. About time.
got a spin turn knob, yey. Bought a clutch fan so i don't have to worry about overheating with my puny electric fan, but unfortunately it's rubbing on the belt for some reason, so i'll have to figure that out. I also flushed that dexcool crap out of my cooling system and put normal 5050 mix in.

then a few weeks later i made an oopsies. Moral of the story is i ended up with a destroyed left front control arm and a bent steering rack. So this weekend i bought an s14 rack from the ebay user carsteering (really good service, really nice people, i recommend them). Unfortunately, it turns out the s14 inner tie rods and the z32 inner tie rods are both too long to use and as such i had to take the joint out of my tein outers and press them into the stock 13 ends, then use the stock inners as well with the new rack. :tisk: so now i have s14 and z32 inners that i don't know what to do with.

Image

Got even worse when i tried to bleed the rack and my resovoir pulled an ol faithful and spewed atf EVERYWHERE. got a new ps pump, fixed the problem.
you can still see the residue. gross

Image

I also replaced the windshield and actually washed the car for the first time. She doesn't look too bad for a daily drifter beater (finally named it SCUD, because it's a dirty missile). Here's some pics of how the car currently stands. You can see the front left tire rash from where the impact happened.

Got most of the bushings taken care of

s14 seats :D

So now the list of problems is much shorter. I'm having some fuel delivery issues causing diesling at shut down, difficult startup and absolutely horrendous gas mileage, so i need to figure that out. My rear calipers are old and leaking, and i believe they might be a bit seized, so i gotta get that taken care of. The shocks are blown, so i need to replace those as well. Finally i need to figure out why the hell my brake lights come on whenever i turn on my headlights/running lights and vice versa. I hate wiring :(

Good news is the 14 rack gives noticeably more angle and the steering feels great now. I was gifted a nice stereo and speakers which i will be installing tuesday when it ships in.

the sooner i get all that taken care of, the sooner i can burn off the pile of tires i've been collecting. Not bad for spending a grand total of 80 bucks, right?
