How do you guys get that kind of milage. I have my car for almost 3 years and i barely get 200 miles.bejjutsu wrote:31MPG?? That's nothing.

There is something SERIOUSLY wrong if you are only getting 11mpg average.robert_4.5_S wrote:How do you guys get that kind of milage. I have my car for almost 3 years and i barely get 200 miles.bejjutsu wrote:31MPG?? That's nothing.
. I usually drive in the city. And my average is 11 mpg now.
Yes driving in city probably makes my average so low. You guys drive a lot on the highway.finikM35 wrote:Nothing wrong with it thats how it is if you only drive in the city. Stop and go every minute or so.
I have the newer 7 speed transmission. With an erratic right foot, the best mpg I've gotten was 24.3 with probably 30/70 city/highway driving. Over the past few fuel ups I'm averaging 20mpg with a roughly 50/50 city/highway split. If I took it easy on the gas pedal I'm sure I could increase the mpg a little bit, but I'm okay with wasting a little fuel to liven up my drive.kingcnc91 wrote:I think these cars would do way better if they didnt the 5 speed transmission they have. RPMs with cruise on at 65 mph are way too high for good cruising fuel economy in my opinion.

That 37MPG is s***, the person who took the pic even said so. He just took that pic after about a minute of resetting and not being on the gas hardly at allrobert_4.5_S wrote:How do you guys get that kind of milage. The 28+ mpg is on highway driving only for that tank while on long trips, you cant get that high of mileage if you add city driving in.IlyaKol wrote:I can get 30mpg to if I just fill up and drive 30mph for a mile. I have a feeling that over a full tank, you guys are less than 30 and more in the mid-20's.
I'm not buying this 30mpg thing lol.
Going 65mph on the New Jersey Turnpike might just get you killed. It's like being a sitting duckIlyaKol wrote:I can't even get 24mpg 100% highway. I'm still not buying near 30's...lol. Unless you guys are following the speed limit and doing 65.
The gearing of this car, at 75mph, is impossible for fuel efficiency.
Yep. There, the unofficial speed limit is at least 80. I usually average 90 there.06M4.5 wrote:Going 65mph on the New Jersey Turnpike might just get you killed. I use Fuelly to track my miles. I don't drive much so I have a small sample size.IlyaKol wrote:We need a scientific way to prove mileage. Do any of you use an smart phone app to track your mileage (using the real way of gallons/miles driven formula)?
I've already posted mine. I would expect you 'hyper milers' to be getting mid-20's (like 23-26) not 30+.

Think of it this way. Many city trips are only a couple miles, but they can take 30 minutes or more to travel those 2 miles, depending upon traffic conditions. It's hard to get the average MPG to go up when you're burning fuel and not moving anywhere..How do you guys get that kind of milage. I have my car for almost 3 years and i barely get 200 miles.. Fine, be a DlCK about it. lolEniGmA1987 wrote:Not that impressive really.
