Is the vacuum line to the diaphram for the Cruise control (Forget the actual name) plugged in?

Yes, inspect the vacuum hose for the automatic speed control device.

I found the problem with my 1990 Q45 was with the cruise control rubber stops on the brake pedal. There are two switches mounted to the brake pedal bracket on the G50 model. One is for the cruise control cancellation and the other is to activate the brake lights. The plunger switches stop against two rubber plugs. What happened to mine is the rubber plug for the cruise cancel switch crumbled and so the cruise computer would think that I was holding the brake and therefore it would cancel out the command.

Classic Nissan bad design, why they do a rubber stopper I don't know, but I am sure someone will tell me now. There are plastic ones on both clutch and brake pedals on my 300ZX, this is more than likely your problem. Check to make sure you brake lights are not on all the time, that has happened to me too when the plastic piece finally got so brittle it disintegrated.

If the stoppers are in place, check the switches themselves. I had a brake light switch go out last year with the same issue. 15 mins later and digging in my spare parts I was cruising again.
