Hello nico club. My name is kevin. I have been lurking on this web site for long time.
Ive had a good amount of 240sx's. 2 s14's and well this is my 4th hatch. I always got rid of them out of boredom. I like the motivation i get from having a new project. Well i never worked on them too deeply. I actually tried to get away from them after a while. Thats a different story however. Anyways, I came back. Ive been building it for about a year now. Its my first turbo car. First alot of things actually. Ive learned alot. Still learning.
So i saw it for sale extremely far from where i live. (not saying) lol. and well she was clean. Bone stock. automatic (YES! their always cleaner lol). 200kmiles. I aint care. Bought it. I made it back home. Went out to buy coil overs... and the trans blew. The guy sold me a lemon. Brake fluid in a trans sure helps its get sold. IF YOURE OUT THERE GUY ... F YOU. lol.

I didnt compression test it. Didnt spin the crank... It just looked so good that i didnt bother. I looked to make sure certain bolts were still there. I just wanted one that wasnt messed with. This one has all heat shields and bolts on the cop cover.

Borrowed a truck! time for pick up. Grabbed some silvia floor mats while i was at it!... I love how it matches single cam interior. The fuzzy colors are awesome.

So parts sat around for a while. I needed time to get everything together. I got bored one day after work and decided to get the front support cut for intercooler mock up.

Bought a used rad and hoses off a friend. Money saving is GOOD!

I had alot of ideas for the engine bay. I picked a color that i didnt keep for long. Cause when the car got painted the bay got a little over spray on it so i had pulled it out again and resprayed another color. Youll see everything! but at the time i chose a nice aqua marine green!

But you guys will see that later. I started working on the clutch. I didnt know the condition of the clutch it had. I wouldnt sleep at night if i dropped it in with a used clutch. I bought a box of brake parts cleaner to get it all started. I like CLEAN.
Image
It was actually VERY clean when i split the trans off the engine. But i cleaned it more anyways.
Image
And on went a comp stage 2 clutch :). I was going to replace the rear main and i wish i had. But it looked okay and i just didnt have time. But if it leaks one day.. big deal lol.

So here it goes. You guys are gona love this... I had 4 days. It was my daily at the time. I had 2 s13 hatches and well my daily one got hit and i parted it out like a month before i started this. Project 240 took me everywhere. I go to school and have a job. I only rest when i sleep at night. I had a 4 day weekend coming up. So i took advantage. On the first day i had a ASE test to go to and as soon as i got back i could rip it apart. In case any of you were curious it was my steering and suspension ASE and i did pass lol.

First day was mainly the tear apart day. Just wanted it all out. My garage as you can see is very small. I have to walk around the car on my side to get anywhere. SUCKS. O well i have to work with what i have. Also keep in mind i had both motors in the garage at the time. SPACE was limed. extremely limited lol.
Image
The next day i began to work on it i was cleaning out the engine bay. lines, master, clutch master, the whole 9. I actually did this in broad day light in my apartment complex. I AINT CARE. LET SOME ONE SAY SOMETHING lol. JK im glad no one did. Not then at least...
Image
This was me at the time in my engine bay. I was extremely entertained lol.

I had the worst luck on these 4 days i took to swap it. It rained like everyday. IT SUCKED SO HARD! But anyways.. bay was cleared of everything. Had some friends come over in their hood rat e36 and other s13 hatch and help push it over to my car wash for degrease and pressure washing. I also sanded it there too. Friends make great sanders. lol.

I was gona pass on painting the bay because of how much of a hassle it can be but some friends of mines really convinced me. They told me id be a idiot if i didnt do it. So i bought a compressor. I bought single stage paint ( its a bay , single stage will do fine) and a paint gun. I thought its like a spray can... easy right? well it kinda was. lol.
I think it came out fairly decent for a 20 year old idiot haha.
Image
Image
i had sprayed the bay at night. when i woke up i let it bake in the sun for like 1 hour. Some lady said something about how i cant do mechanics in my garage. i says " yeah , whatever" LOL. MIND YOUR OWN LADY. She was actually like a manger or something... anyways i didnt hear from her again. So i started putting all the parts back into the bay.
Image
Ohh and it rained shortly after. Fun.

Sr was ready for bed. So me and my friend tucked her in. My hoist's arm is very short so it was a pain. A leveler would have helped but we muscled it in there.

It wasnt a full party with out a wiring specialties harness. It was worth every penny.
Image
By the end of the night it was practically ready to turn on. I didnt want to start it how ever. It had to be perfect. So i waited for the next morning to overlook everything.

I intern with toyota and had the class take a look. Looking at camrys all day isnt fun. I was pressure testing the cooling system. My heater hoses were playing games lol. My instructor has a firebird or one of those v8 things. He only believes in the 1/4 miles so he doesnt understand lol. If its not one of those big v8's it might as well be a honda. Ill run him at track one day and we'll see. haha

Stock body for me is the best. I didnt want type x again. Tracking those fender extensions sucked. I also really like poly. I cant do those fragile fiber glass body kits.
