Due to time constraints for me. A few days. But total time several hours. You will need a plenum gasket as well. Oh. And if it has never been removed before. You may have to get the gasket grinded off the plenum. I had to grind mine off. Caution. I had shop do that for me. Don't want to ruin plenum. Buy the injectors from someone or ask on Hereford website to purchase. Someone knows who to buy them off. I don't recall I got mine locally off someone. Do the work yourself and save. A shop will charge a lot. Sorry can't answer cost for you. I'd say.

Ok the garage has no idea whats going on. So i got it back in my garage today. I pulled the timing covers off and the belt looks fine has good tension looks like the water pump been replaced so i would guess that the timing belt has been also. The cam gear grooves line up with the backing plate but the whitle lines on the belt dont match to anything is this ok?

I found one on Ebay for 29 shipped. (Knock Off)
Same issue.
Fine on start up and bogging down huge when it reaches temp.
re-soldered everything inside the maf, No fix.
Put the replacement MAF in and it runs like a champ !

The white lines on the timing belt and the marks on the rear timing cover only line up every so many revolution (like 1000 or something). It only matters that they all line up when you're installing a new one. After that they probably won't ever line up again that you'll see. Smoking black means your running super rich, did you check the injectors yet?

Also, ebay MAFs almost never work right so don't be surprised if it acts faulty. Only OEM MAFs work good, you should just pick up a good used one for $80-100

Nah man i havent. I am stuck on it being the mass air flow if have to wait till next Friday to buy new injectors anyways. The white lines dont line up at all. Just the grooves on the gears line up with backing plate.

Yeah, the lines will never line up again that you will see. Every like 182 rotations or some crazy crap like that.

Only the N62 MAF will work. Some places even go as far as to put an N62 sticker on a different MAF. There's a guide somewhere to tell the difference. I can't recall where, though.

Only way to actually if its on timing is to count the cogs between the marks. That is a sure fire way to know for sure. If you are blowing black smoke, and you even said you have an injector at more than 14 ohms, you need a new injector. These injectors are known for going out, causing issues, just problems all around.

The other things that will cause an overly rich situation is CTS, O2 sensors, MAF, etc.. The MAF WILL cause a CEL. Does the ecu show a code 55 when you check for codes? Possible an ECU issue if not. You can also put it in mode II to check O2 sensors.

When I recall my issues just a few weeks ago. And now that I think of it. The tip of the exhaust got black from the car running to rich. It smelled bad to. All my problems and test came up with injectors as the cause. As much as it is hard to believe that some of them ohm at between 12-14 ohms and you think they are good. Chances are they are misleading you and in fact are bad. It happen to me. I can ohm out bad ones at 12-14 ohms. It happens. Today my car runs extremely good. I kid you not. If one injector is high. I would just get them done. All 6pack of them. Your car will thank you.
One injector is enough to make your car lose total power and run sluggish.
One injector.

Ok, good start. What plugs do you have in the car? If you have code 55, and black smoke, its either going to be that bad injector or an o-ring has gone bad and causing more fuel to get in the engine. MAF will throw a code, will not let the car rev past 2500, and a ton of other issues, but it will show a code.

Just for sh*ts and giggles, is it a stock MAF that has N62 on it? Or was it replaced by a cheap knock off?
