Hello again all was driving home on the freeway tonight and went to downshift and the clutch hit the floor but had no effect could not shift. To make a long sad story short i SLAMMED i mean power shifted it into second limped her home where i had some tools and a flash light.

Checked the master cylinder and sure enough it was empty topped it up pumped the cluch a bunch feels better but still no effect cannot get her into first

Fluid keeps goin down keep topping it up looked under car and it is dripping from what looks like the slave cylinder. Anyone else have this happen? is it easy to replace the slave cylinder? any online how to's?

if it's leaking out of the slave then yeah you need a new slave, not a bad idea to replace the master at the same time, also you have to bleed the system after, pretty much the same as brakes but you have only 1 bleeder and it's on the slave

there are 2 bleeder valves on the Z32, the 2nd one being on the passseger side of the engine bay, next to the fender. i would HIGHLY recommend speed bleeders, it makes it oh so much easier. check out splparts.com

Yep, you will have to replace the slave cylinder. Like S13ean said, there are two bleeders on the Z32, one on the slave cylinder and one sitting on top of the passenger side wheel-well in the engine bay.

Water usually runs down to the lowest point in the hydraulic system seeing as it is heavier than clutch fluid -- this is the slave cylinder and usually leads to it rusting from the inside-out.

They are cheap to replace and easy enough to bleed, but DONT forget the second bleed valve, lol, took us 1 hour of pumping before we realised how dumb we were.

I bled the slave cylinder until my buddy got bored and went away, nothing seemed to happen still no clutch. However i only used the bottom valve the one right on the slave. What is the deal with the second valve ?? do i open both at the same time? one then the other? i knew i should have paid more attention to that fluid dynamics stuff back at tech college.

Bleed the bottom one (on the side of the slave) until air bubbles stop coming out, then close it, next bleed the top one in the engine bay the exact same way. When you are done bleeding the second one (NOT the one on the master, there is an additional one in the engine bay) the pedal should be stiff.
