If you get an 0455 code, then it's evaporative emissions related. Either a loose gas cap or a non-OEM locking gas cap was installed (these are notorious for producing CEL's). If the CEL does not return after clearing it, then don't worry.
If it does then it's something more serious. In my case, I had a bad purge solenoid. It was an out of warranty repair which cost me $320.

I just had this problem recently. The light would go on and then after a while will shut off. I took it to the dealer and changed some sensors that Philipa mentioned in the previous post and the problem is gone.

another dumb question
the nissan dealer i took it to
wanted to charge me 150 dollars to lift the car and check the noice under the car.
they told me because i was on a second hand vehacle and bought it at a small dealer. i would have to pay that even though car was on warrenty . thats a bit crazy dont you think ?
so should i tell the dealer i think its a solenoid ??
