check engine light

Postby m30driver » Tue Jul 24, 2012 6:42 pm

What's up I'm new to the vg engines. I just recently got an m30 two tone pearl white on gold. I didn't find much help on f31 club. The car drives fine but randomly the engine light will come on and begin to idle rough. Then the light goes away and isles normal. Has this happen to anyone before?? I inspected the injectors and found most of the connectors brittle and don't snap on securely. Luckily as it was idling rough I moved one connector that was pretty brittle, I moved it and it idled perfectly. So I ordered 6 new connectors now I just have to wait for them to see if this helps. Oh and also every time the light comes on I've checked the ecu for codes and got 55 that's the all ok code right? Thanks for any input

:welcome: to NICO!

I'd say our culprit is probably those connectors if moving it helped. 55 is the "OK" code.

You can find the factory service manual for your M here. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/M/

Good luck!
