Given that I'm generally the only one in my vehicle, if my phone's not in my pocked it will be in the spare cup holder (usually recharging). Finding a spot for something like that is always a challenge. It's either in the way and a distraction, or placed somewhere inconvenient.

I have the Galaxy S3 and purchased the iBolt dock for it at verizon. Normally costs $40 but with my work discount I got it for $30

I bought one as a gift for my girl but she lost it. This is the one she lost:

So at the end I ended up giving her the one I bought for me, now I gotta buy another one. And this is the one I gave her:

I need one since I use more my cellphone's GPS than my Garmin. And my cellphone screen is bigger (5.3")

Just don't become too dependent on your GPS unit. I work at a hotel, and when people tell me they're lost, it's usually because they used their GPS. I'll give them directions only after they've turned the stupid thing off.

Here's my favorite stupid question of the day:
Q: Can you give me the address for the ocean so I can put it in my GPS?
A: Umm, drive east until you hear a splash.
:facepalm:

I'm using a Panavise bracket and a ProClip device holder -- currently the one for the iPhone 4/4S with a case (adjustable with tilt/swivel and pass through connector with horizontal support)

I have the ProClip mount and a device holder still mounted by the instrument cluster but it's not used for anything. I just haven't felt like taking it down and undoing the hardwiring.

Couldn't tell via a quick search but odds are that your SGS3 doesn't output analog audio via USB so you'd need some sort of DAC.

Alternately, you could wire a BT audio receiver to your aux jack on the car stereo and pair your SGS3 with it.

That dock that I have, the iBolt transmits the sound and charges the S3 while docked. So all you would need to do is run the wire (it comes with a 9ft Cable) the way you said & plug that in!

I have installed my holder roughly at the same spot but the wire is going throw speedometer so you can see a little bit from the window. The problem with mine since it's original from samsung it doesn't hold the phone with ANY cases but I'm using otterbox (even yours...I'm stricken looks too small for my galaxy note without a case). I'll be looking for a new spot soon with new holder since I'm about to get note 2 :)

Same here, I own the first Galaxy Note since it came out on AT&T, hopefully I can get the Note 2. The holder that I had before and I gave away can hold a phone up to 8.5", but the only thing I did not like is that it used to move around like one of those bubble head dolls that people put in their cars :tisk:

From AT&T Website:

Size (inches) -> 5.78 x 3.27 x 0.38
