changing brake pads

changing brake pads

I am going to attempt changing the brake pads on my EX (the dealer quoted +$400 for the job which everyone says very simple to do). I only have 25k on the car and the rear brakes started making noise already  There are very informative videos online about how to do the job, about how to push back the pistons, avoiding brake fluid overflow (this might get tricky as the dealer tops off the fluid each time I have it serviced), etc, but they are not specific to EX. I already bought a pair of Akebono ceramic pads. My only questions at this point are, what size of wrench do I need for the slider bolt and what is the the torque rating for it? I can't see that before taking the wheel out, and the brake service manual was not really transparent (from the link below) Any other issues specific to EX that I need to watch out for? Thanks!

I bet a video on a G35 would have similar / relevant information.

guessing 10mm? isn't almost everything 10mm? :)

I couldn't find a video on a G35 that had the factory brakes on it (in the G35 forum there is an Akebono brake set video), but the replacement was very easy. I only had to siphon out some brake fluid, that was it. While I was at it, I changed all four pads even though the fronts had some more life on them.

Great!
Anything jump out that others should keep in mind, or was it pretty straightforward like most cars?
