A very sad day indeed. I just read a story about his health a couple of weeks ago. He got to live to see the Shelby 1000 revealed, which is one of the last major project he wanted to see finished :frown:

Maker of many of my favorite cars. I have #317 of the one above. I'm sad I never got around to going to a Shelby-Dodge convention and meeting him in person. In 1954 he set the course record at the Mt. Washington climb to the clouds (America's oldest motorsport event) with a time of 10 minutes 21.8 seconds in a Ferrari 4.5L GP similar to this one:

I'm pretty sure in every race car project I've been involved with I've had to stop and think "What would Carroll Shelby do?" Oh yeah, less weight, more horsepower.

RIP Carroll Shelby.

Well DAMN :(

He wasn't looking too good the last time I saw him. We've lost another great influence in motorsports :(

The last time we saw him, he was looking pretty rough. Talk about an amazing life though. It's sad to see him go but it's nice to step back and reflect on all the amazing things he did.
