I would like to get an enclosed motorcycle trailer since I am going to move to an apartment complex. Can a 09 Nissan Versa 1.8 pull a 2500 lbs trailer without causing damage or eccesive wear to any components? And if it can, is there a trailer hitch for it out there?

There is a hitch out there for the Versa. I don't know the towing capacity from memory. Try NissanUSA's website and see if it's listed there.

I doubt if the Versa can tow anything more than 1,000 pounds. The trailer alone probably weights close to that. I wouldn't do it. This is not an engine made to pull such a heavy load, plus the brakes will be used to their limits. Can it do it? Probably. Could it damage the engine or transmission? You bet.

My guess is that it could probably tow it.. but the car isn't built to do so, so I'm guessing that it could cause problems in the long run. I either wouldn't do it or I would go to my local Nissan dealership and get some information from them...

Ok so yesterday I was looking through the FSM for something any it says, "Do not tow anything." If you want to look it up it is almost at the bottom of the FSM. Just view the PDF and use the Find toolbar and type "Tow" or "Towing" into it.
