Can't play iPod videos in my 2011 G37

My understanding is that the 2011 G37 should be able to play music videos downloaded to my iPod. However, mine does not work. Also, I cannot play an .avi video on USB although the manual states that it should play. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nice 'vert! Not sure about the video playing...are you trying it with the parking brake engaged?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have the car in park and the parking brake on but I still can't get either iPod videos or USB videos (.avi) to work. In reading the manual, my understanding is that both should work.
Thanks for the compliment on my car. It was a beautiful day here in Southern California and I drove around with the top down. I love it! Also, I just love the car, convertible or not.

What version iPod do you have? I know that some of the newer ones have issues with Infiniti.

Try a google search for specifics.

Interesting. I thought there were problems with the older I pods. I do have a later version iPod so I will certainly check it out. Thanks.

You can not play ipod, iphone, ipad videos on 2010 models and up.

To use usb thumb drive or a hard drive you just need to get avic from here
http://www.djczar.com/avicd3/AviC.exe

open the divx avi file and change the fourcc to dx50

ALso make sure the usb is under 64gb(I think this is a limit) and its formated fat32

Thanks Fezzik. Also if anyone is interested, I found a program called Ideal DVD Copy. http://www.idealdvdcopy.com/index.htm

It makes it super simple to copy a pre-recorded Dvd (movie) and re-record to a blank DVD which plays in my 2011 G37 Vert. You can record standard 4.7g disk (which loses some quality due to compression) or use a 8.5g for better quality. It is not a free program but it does offer a trial to check it out.
