Cam Snout for CAS differences?

So something weird I've noticed since I own 2 S13 SR20DET rwd heads now is that on both of my Heads if you look at the snout on the exhaust cam for the CAS the little worm gear is different one goes the full length right to the front of the sproket and the other is like just the front half of the snout and looks like Nissan had the rest of it shaved down so it doesn't go the length? Anyone else see this and know what's up?

I think it's for cam weight reduction :yesnod

I guess I should just ask a prominent SR tuner in Japan, I think he would know the answer......
