Today, I replaced the NAPA Gold 4863 in-cabin filters which were in use for about 18 months with Nissan OEM part # 999M1-VP003 ($36 on Courtesy Parts - which is the wholesale price the dealership offered me). Strangely, Courtesy Parts lists a different, cheaper part number under Accessories -> Interior for R50s. Perhaps these are the filters alone and do not include the new retaining clip, caution and replacement labels, or instructions, all of which were unnecessary in my case. I already have the caution label in my glove box, and the sticker is nice but not worth $4 (or $16 if I had bought the NAPA Gold again). The old retaining clip was still usable, but I used the new one anyway.

Here are photos of the new filters:

Both filters have 52 pleats, give or take one. Old filters:

These filters have the same amount of pleats as the OEM filters. They don't have as much foam padding around the front of the filters. I paid around $20 for these filters, and they look comparable to the OEM filters. These filters are probably made by Wix, since most if not all of NAPA's Gold filter line (oil and air) is made by Wix. I would not hesitate to use them again. Other than the minor gripe about the foam padding, there is nothing wrong with these filters and they did their job well.

In short, these say nothing different than the guide here on NICO.

I just received my order from Pinnacle -- sent me part number 27275-2W625 (filter kit) as the in cabin filter. Came in a Nissan box -- I don't see a clip ....only a date sticker ....... but I don't need the clip. $23.36

I have been using Pinnacle for quite a while -- I order most of my stuff from them even though they are out west and I am on the east.

Rear shoes are $43.00 -- Air filter is $14.50 -- oil filters are $6.00. I place an order a few times a year --the shipping is always less than what I would pay in tax.

That part number comes up with nothing @ Courtesy Parts.

I usually just use my local dealership for any Nissan parts, since I get wholesale prices which are generally equal or maybe a little more expensive than Courtesy, but the fact that I don't have to pay shipping makes up for that.

Actual part is marked P0929 -- Nissan "Made in Japan" Gray plastic.

The number has changed a few times -- I think that it must be used on other Nissan vehicles. It did not have any instructions included in the box.

It's too late for me to look at the part no. on the filters themselves as they're already installed.

I will tap out the dirt from the old NAPA filters and reuse them for another year after these new filters are used up. The old ones still look serviceable and there's no point in wasting them. I will purchase these NAPA Gold filters from now on.

The last set I purchased from Autohaus or Rockauto. They had a rebate and I was ordering others for two of the Lexus sedans we have. They have a charcoal layer built into them. I think they ended up being no more then ten dollars -- were a little thicker and a bit of a pain to install.

Many of the cabin filters don't look to be thick enough to do very much other than protect the evaporator from dirt -- The units in my Mercedes wagon are very substantial and the ACC has a separate set of charcoal filters ------ and they cost $100.00!!

The new Nissan filters have 53 pleats -- they may have been born together!

For the next filter I use, it'll probably be this. $15ish on RockAuto and has activated carbon to help eliminate odors.

That is the one I purchased -- I guess it was from RA. I installed the Nissan filter today -- looked to be the same as the filter in the car. The filter that from RA was a quality filter -- I would recomend it ......especially with free shipping over $50.00
