would also like to know, i am a major newb when it comes to this stuff.also found this, dont know if it helps or not, http://www2.osk.3web.ne.jp/~t1....htmlzero_gripS13 wrote:whats a good way to learn how to rom tune your own stuff??what do u need to write chips?
We use the Live Edit program that is on that site above... if you have a KA24E, then all you need is to get your ECU socketed. If you have a DE, you will need a daughterboard. Go to http://www.bikirom.com and check out some of his boards.Edub1 wrote:Dude, you rock!
Probably the most common setup would be 7 - 12lbs of boost, 460cc injectors and a Z32 MAF. What software do you use?
As for 180 tunes, our motors are 2.4L. I'd be leery of a tune based on a 1.8L
Works fine for me. Make sure you follow in the installation instructions precisely. It's finicky in that way. You MUST have it installed in the C:\ drive (the root of C drive).Edub1 wrote:Does live edit work well? I keep getting some kind of 13 error and the program crashes untill I reinstall it. Why is this?
Do you mean ROM Editor? If so, Live Edit is nice because you can use it in conjunction with the pocket romulator from xtronics (www.xtronics.com) and do some live tuning on the dyno or street (provided you have a wideband). Plus, Live Edit has a much nicer interface...at least to me.originalsin wrote:so which is better rom tuning or live edit? wats the diff? i want to get into tuning my own car, and am willing to purchase wat i need
