I'm pretty newb to this forum but I though I could do a write for a T25g turbo swap. I see alot of people asking this question. I don't really know but I guess it is the same for the t28.
Before doing anything, make sure you have everything on your Hand. The extra part I did use while doing this was:CA18DE(pulsar) exhaust manifold to head gasket(x4),300zx manifold to turbo gasket.I didn't use a new turbo to downpipe gasket because mine was in good condition. I heard that some use the Mazdaspeed 2003.5 gasket.
Their is no special tool, except a BIG snapring plier.
Removing the stock turbo is straigh forward.Take off the hoses, connector(maf and 02),exhaust ,oil and water lines(dont loose the water line gasket ).I took it out with the manifold without the O2 pipe.Take of the 4 bolt holding the turbo to the manifold.
Now you can see both of them side by side. The SR20 unit is visualy bigger.
Before putting back your new sr t25 you need to do a few things.First of all you would want to use the CA18DET pipe.
After that, you would need to put a new vacuum source for the wastegate. I tapped the ca18 vaccuum bolt onto the sr unit. I don't remember the size of the tap.I'm sure you can use another vacuum but,the closer to the turbo the better. It will not read the pressure drop(Correct me on that).
Now you would want to put the turbo back on the manifold. It will NOT fit.
You need to rotate the compressor side by taking off the snapring and forcing the compressor to twist a little bit.
Use nissan OEM gasket if you can.
You would want to use the sr20 pipe just after the suction pipe and cut it off to make it fit to your suction pipe. I don't have a pic unfortunatly.
After that it is the same thing as the installation but in the opposite way.Don't forget to connect everything.
Your car will LOOK stock if everything went well.
Sorry for my bad english. If their is anything I forgot, please mention it.
