Car: 2005 G35 Coupe

Post

Hello everyone I am new to the forum and apologize if this is not the right place to post this.

I am looking in to buying my neighbors 2005 G35 Coupe. It has almost 64,000 miles on it. He bought the car used in 06, so almost new. The car is immaculate inside and out, he is also almost 60 years old and probly only put his foot on the floor once or twice.

Problem is he got hit in the front and the front passenger side frame rail got bent. He was barely moving and the other car was coming from the driver side going the same direction and came across in front hooking their rear wheel/door to his front bumper basically ripping it off the car and bending the frame rail as it was dragged across, so the car was not hit head on and most of the parts are salvageable.

I'm really just asking what you guys think and is there anything else I should look for and maybe how much is a good price to pay for the frame work, I can do everything else myself. The car only has rims everything else is stock. The title is still clean and he wants $4,500 for it. Thanks

thanks for your input but 64000 miles that has been garage kept and driven by an old man for 90% of its life I think ill do it (and airbags never deployed), not to keep it but good money to be made here. I priced all parts in the front end, all the way back to the radiator for $1,350 paint included. I can do everything myself except the frame which I had have a buddy that said between 500 & 1000 at his shop. Then I will be going to get all the other parts today to see what I can still use and I guessing most of it so I will probly be able to cut the parts bill down to 600 and 800 so worst case 1350 for parts 1000 for frame work 4500, so 6850 for a car and parts/work, that blue books at 12500 ill take that money.

"Almost 60 years old"

THAT IS NOT OLD!

My father used to say the older they are the more experience they have.
That advice applies to both women and automobiles.

I'm assuming the vehicle would have a salvage title as the guy is not fixing it? If you are going to dump money into it I'd suggest finding out what the final value will be after the repairs to determine if it's worth it or not.
