I personally don't turn rotors since they're usually cheap enough to buy new. However, most NAPA stores will turn a rotor as long as they're not in awful shape. Most folks find success there.
Not all pads are equal. Some ceramic are great, others can break or run down quickly. I typically go with the middle of the road option on daily driver commuter cars.

oK I was going to get the middle priced pads, they come in organic , than semi metallic and ceramic
why is it today everything in OEM is ceramic yet the non ceramic pads they say are equal or out perform the OEM pads/
