Wattup people,
I was just thinking about how much power is needed to stop the car from any speed. I know there are better brake solutions than the factory set up. I'm just curious to see what you guys are running ??

Akebono sport brakes do quite well.

Are you talking about the whole BBK kit or just the pads ? I see a lot of people with the BBK kit but I don't have aftermarket rims and I know the factory 18s wont fit with it. I am thinking of possibly getting rotors and the pads so I just need some input on that

Factory 18's should fit for the most part. There are plenty of people running 18" snow tires on sport editions. The '11+ G37 sedan with sport edition came with Akebono and 18" rims.

AKEBONO G37s brakes bolt right on the M as well. Let me know if you are interested.

Mike has done a number of them. Here's one:

This one has a link to a template in which you can check to see if your rims work with the front calipers:

You would need spacers only if the rims you have won't clear the front calipers.

That's what I was trying to avoid. I am really a newbie to all of this stuff. But I have an AWD model n dunno how that would affect it. I mean, I plan on getting 20s or 22s at some point, just not now lol.
I would need spacers for the front n the back if I put them on the front right ?? Pardon my ignorance

If you space the front I would suggest doing the same for the back or it would look "odd". Simply purchasing 20 or 22" rims does not mean the wheels would fit the Akebono brakes either as the calipers stick out more. That's one of the issues with my G37s as the majority of aftermarket rims will still need spacers to fit the calipers.

Oh ok. I got it. I always thought it was the rotors that would be an issue. Never thought about the calipers. Thank you

with the BBK you would get larger rotors anyway. The fitment issue is usually due to how much the new calipers stick out when compared to the base ones, thus, the template.
