Hey guys my name is Marc, first year in podiatry school, and I just bought a 2013 g37 under 14,500 miles last week for 24k out the door. I've been in love ever since :)

Thanks, means a lot coming from a moderator on here. Originally I strictly wanted a manual transmission but it was impossible to find a mt car with low miles and a decent price. So I broke down and went for the auto, but manumatic is a decent alternative. Obviously it's not the same but it's the next best thing. I may install paddle shifters later on :)

Sounds like you did pretty good on the price! Too bad you had to get an automatic though :(

Nice price! I'm trying to get the 2010 coupe for 24 out the door, but they won't come down below 24.8. And I hear you about that 6MT - they're impossible to find.

That's a tidy looking car right there.
I'm curious to see how an aftermarket paddle shifter install would go. I know we had a guy on here do a writeup for it on a 240sx, but I don't think I've seen one done on a G.

Thanks dawg! Yeah the price was too good to pass up once i got him to come down from 26.3 so I bit the auto bullet and I dont regret it for a second. I am saving tons of gas, im sure id be burning more fuel if i got a manual since i get tempted way easier doing stupid stuff and waste gas. And if i do want to do stupid stuff and redline it i just switch it to manumatic. Good luck shopping for your G im sure whatever you end up getting you'll love it!

If you're putting paddles on it, will you be doing anything else? Exhaust/Intake?

I'm working on the weight :P

We'll today at 7:30 am on the ca-60 freeway I found a Cadillac XLR cruising at 65 mph in the fast lane when the freeway was totally clear!!! So I switch lanes to pass him, and he hit the throttle!!! No joke I am dead serious here. I got 130 mph on 5th gear and guess what? I SHIFTED DOWN INSTEAD OF UP TO 6TH AND HE PASSED ME!!! :(

I really hate not driving a manual. As soon as I get home I'm ordering paddle shifters damn it.

Driving the G37S just before driving the 135i with steptronic, I fell in love with the BMW auto and really disliked the Infiniti's tranny. For daily grandpa style driving, the infiniti is fine, but if you want to get a little fun with things, it is not the tranny for you. I love that BMW tranny and would choose it over a manual. Even with paddle shifters, the G did not want to shift immediately and if I wanted to shift UP while below 2k rpms, it literally gave me a "your an idiot" beep, and refused to shift. Maybe forgo the paddle shifters and save that money for beer?
